Long losing opportunities

Last week we we were sometime engaged in a conversation where that was on the topic of deputy collector. One of my dad’s colleague friend was promoted as a deputy collector of Thiruvanamalai district in mid of this month, who was a same batch and joined at a same period, but my dad was still as an assistance in most backward class department. Then u must know how much we have to be worried where his friend was a deputy collector and dad in very lower level, we didn’t jealous on him, but felt to express our sorrow of missing that great opportunity. We can blame only ours than non for missing this value, but it hurts me and my family which makes him to stop accepting the opportunities, trainings, promotions for higher departments.

He was offered for promotion many times in demanding to get post in some other districts, but to avoid being away from us he refused to accept the great opportunities. Because for me to maximum and leaving his age-old mother and for other dense in family he rejected when all his colleagues and friends put on promotions and enjoying privilege. I don’t know in which way am I going to return for all his sacrifice, when ever someone ask about his status in the government service he really feel struggle to answer that he is still an assistant, but in a senior position. What solace is that he has good values in working place, between friend circle with his colleagues who where in higher ranking, his wordings where responsible.

What’s happening could be easily understandable that everything he concedes is for the affection and care he got on us. He realize how difficulty it could be to handle a physically unable young, whether if he left, only mom to that care alone and this was the first reason said no to all. For our comfort, he give away to destroy his dreams and desires. Even today he worries telling about it that he must been gone, many of well wishes urged to accept the opportunities left, but he not even to think about putting us in stress. Sure me and bro would be harden without dad, from brushing the teeth, dropping in school and waiting for his arrival from office in evening to go sleep we look for him. Though he goes for any official camps, he never forgets a single day to call to enquire us. I have no future without him; it may puzzle who is lucky, where to born for very affectionate parents are they for having us. Thanks dad for scarifying and showing special love on me.

this is heartbreaking...dont loose hope. His sacrifice will be answered, don't worry brother. we are here for you. You made me think. More than anything, it is a big acknowledgment that you talk and write about him, you are his star, and for you, him. For the rest of us, we look to you in admiration.

Its very touching to read this. Your father must be very happy that his son is able to appreciate and realise the sacrifices made by him for his dear son. I am sure that love you have is more than any promotion or post for him.

But on the other hand, why can't he take you and others along with him in case he gets a transfer? Just a thought.

I guess every father is ready to give his own child the rights he deserves. I think this post should be dedicated to all fathers.

dear jeevan,
i am not boasting, if i say ,that i sacrificed all my career for my family.you know, i started my career as Asst.professor in 1981. had i continued ,imagine the position i would be enjoying now with 12 more years left for retirement.i relinguished all promotions.at times ,i used to feel the same as your father.especially,at times when the juniors , who have overtaken behave as if they are great and we are nothing.but, like your father, i never gave importance to my job.my children are my life.that's what i felt.i made them happy and did my best to them.
convey my heartiest wishes to your father.
