Colorful Villea

Bougainvillea @ ECR

Following the gates on Pvt. Beach lanes off ECR, I was captivated by the colorful blossoms of bougainvillea bloomed outside a bungalow, while leaving one of the by-lanes of ECR. I have seen bougainvilleas bloomed in eye-catching colors of white, yellow, red and purple among the by-lanes many time and I have also grown watching the bougainvillea in a house garden opposite to our native home sometime until we shifted or cut-off by the owner. I always have a nostalgic feel towards this flowering shrub! Hope you like the photos

it's just gorgeous! i grew bougainvillea one summer here and loved it, but it gets too cold over winter and it froze and died.

These flowers stay like this for many days. They don't get dried up and fall down. I too love these flowers, esp. on the highways!

I remember our house! We used to have villeas with different colors. They look so beautiful when they bloom together. :)

The bougainvillea bush laden with dark purple flowers looks bright and fresh.

It is so beautiful. Our climate is too cold for something like this to grow. The winters would take it out.

Jeevan,
I love these flower and your photos are superb!
We grew a couple of Bourgain Villlea in Texas and they survived reasonably well.
Have a Beautiful Day!
Peace :)

Hello, Just got home from a nice trip to Arkansas to celebrate George's birthday. I will blog about it tomorrow.

Now--it's time to start working in the yard, cleaning up all of the 'junk' from the ice storm. What a mess!!!

Hope you are doing well. Love love love the Bougainvillea... Such a gorgeous color!

Hugs,
Betsy
