During a long
drive on the countryside of Kodaikanal, we stopped for mild refreshment and find
this two pole gate making way through eucalyptus trees in the forest area.
This is one of
the many forest gates on way the to Mannavanur from Kodaikanal and these jeep
tracks are open for only forest officials to patrol. Once crossed the Kodaikanal
town, its woods and forest take away the scenario and this area is often sighted
with bison (Indian gaur).

Are th gates there to keep people out?
Great gate shot - creative
Wishing you a happy weekend - ^_^
It looks like the gate is attached to the trees.
The Indian Gaur is a very large animal. A lot of muscle. Your forest must be great places for you to visit. I assume it is a higher weter altitude in which they grow.
what a wonderful looking forest!
You know what? I have visited so many places but not Kodaikkaanal. I must do it soon. Your posts are pushing me to pester my husband to take me there!
Very good gate going into the forest and wow those trees look tall.

Only you could have noticed and clicked such a small gate in a large forest :) Nice addition to gates.

I love to walk through the woods. It's so peaceful, but I understand why they want to keep people out. Such a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Gate to the Forest is a great way to describe your photo.... I assume the gate is there to protect the forest/environment and to keep HUMANS out!!!! Neat.... Humans do so much to destroy nature.
Looks like a great drive in the country.....
Hugs,
Betsy
