Poem on infant - Barath

Barath
Photo by Jeevan
His innocent smiles
baths in dewdrops rain;
His sweet gestures
console grief and pain.

His giggle sounds
a great stress buster;
His intend cry
a melting of heart.

His tiny fingers
holds hope within palms;
His little feet
an impression of soft petals.

His infant smells
a fragrance of distinct;
His watchful eyes
a phrase of instinct.

His motion limbs
fluttering of butterfly;
His crawl seeks
a pursuit of dreams.

Writing on the thought of my nephew Barath and the photo was captured by me during his visit to home.

AttaKathi – unique

I watched this good film, 'AttaKathi', with my cousin on Tuesday evening in Drive-in; and it was a Tamil movie captured on a phase of life of a casual youth who seeking for love and it wasn’t like watching a movie, but just checking out the next door.  Every character we come across the movie was so real and natural and even everyone are new faces, it wasn’t feel strange but too familiar like we interact every day in neighborhood.
AttaKathi is a combine of two Tamil words referred to ‘cardboard knife’ and the main character of the movie is lead by the title, who entice like a hero to become only zero!  The movie is all about the hero ‘Dhina allies Dinakaran’ who fall in love for every beautiful girl he come across and he leads a group of friends whose vow is to only love and marry... but at a moment in frustration that no one loves him, he decides love is not for him and changed his attitude and style, which leads him to college... where once again love knocks at the door.

The actor doesn’t expresses a gem of acting but his causality gets applauds and whenever he tries to react to emotion or impress a girl he leaves us aloof and laughter. There are many locally things in the movie that would cherish anybody who grows around Chennai and the bunch of Gaana songs are one of an enchanting of the movie, we get to experience after a long back.

Among the two more girls, Poornima holds charm somewhat on the screen; and buses play an important role in the movie where most of the scenes were captured inside the bus and on the footboard. Dhina is called as route thaala (leader) by everyone in college, which I am hearing first time, words used to describe the leader of the bus that en route to college; and something that I find great relief was that on one used cell phones!

It isn’t a usual love story where failures taken into serious destruction or depression, but everything were left lighthearted and like there’s an end, there’s a beginning... the love starts seeing another girl. The background score were somehow reminding the theater performance and the songs are unique and interesting to listen through refreshing lyrics! Aasai Oru Pulveli is my favorite song.

Atta Katha... deserves watching for its innovation and refreshing indeed!

Kumki – almost melody

Mynaa fame Prabu Solomon’s forthcoming Tamil movie Kumki – a wild love story, is out in audio holding half a dozen songs that mesmerize through pleasant lyrics and unique render in music. Kumki is a name referred to trained Indian elephants that used for taming and training wild elephants and helps in driving away the wild elephants that stray into human settlements.

The movie produced by director Lingusamy has Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon as lead and the songs are composed by D.Imman and lyrics written by Yugabharathi. The movie was my personal anticipation towards the title and stills which hold similar remark to Mynaa which is one of my favorite films.  Here we go with the songs:

There are 10 songs in the album in which three are Karaoke... ‘Ayyayoo Aananthamae’, is a joyous song sung by Haricharan and the blissful lyric make it more fascinating and gives a feel of listening to Ilayarajas songs. The music of this song was just reverberates like a flow of stream and the humming of violin at the rear end was eternal.

‘Nee Yeppo Pulla’, is a song beings at high pitch in the volume of composer Alphons Joseph, is so humble and impressive through the feeling of lyrics and its one among the solo to hum.  'Onnum Puiyala', is a soothing melody stroke the heart with a unique string of guitar and the music director himself have sung the song, except the interruption of the high beats in-between it’s awesome!

‘Sol Sol’ is a wonderful folk song, sung by Magizhini Manimaaran who hail from the bird paradise Vedanthangal and the lines are simple and meaningful and even it gives a feel of Jingu Chikku of Mynaa, it comes under the rural melody. ‘Sollitaley Ava Kaadhala’, is a very beautiful song sung as a duet by Ranjith and Shreya Ghoshal, leaves listening again for surpass of love and magic in there vocal. The flute tack was just moving...

‘Yella Oorum’, is a jumbo track to cheer and it almost related to life of mahout and elephant. I’m sure it gonna rejuvenating and make rejoice everyone, in the tone of Benny Dayal and D.Imman. I’m much looking forward to the release of the movie and to watch all the songs in the video format. What special about the album was its almost melody!

Weekend outing along ECR

Few weekends back we had a family outing on ECR (east coast road) and on a leisure drive we went till Chinna Cuddalore beach near the mouth of River Palar... about 80km from Chennai. The indefinite drive took us around the Kalpakkam Township which created for the employees working in the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research and Power Station.
Calm backwater, near bay
Calm backwater across the township
I come across the Kalpakkam Township after long back and I really like this place for its quiet clam environment and beautiful lanes and well maintained gardens and greenery and trees and Backwaters Lake. There are about 26,000 people reside there hailing from across the country and they are provided with all amenities like schools, hospital, shopping complex and sports ground. There are about 4,920 quarters and the township was established in 1979.
Beautiful Lane
Beautiful lane across the township
The township was parted by two, which was cut cross by a backwater canal close to Bay of Bengal and the two sides are connected by two beautiful bridges, and the backwater is visited by many migratory birds. The platforms lay beside the backwater was inviting to take a walk leisurely in evening and checking the birds and the plenty of trees gives huge shelter on both sides of the lanes.
Chinna cuddalore beach
Chinna cuddalore beach
We carried our lunch along with us and had at one of a trees shelter along the ECR and went discovering the Chinna Cuddalore beach, coming across the country side with paddy fields and herd of goats. The way to the beach is an isolated lane with the company of green coconut groves and at the end of the beach a fishing research centers have being on construction in full fledge.
Green coconut grove
On our way back home we stopped at the Palar river bridge to take few shots on the river bed and leftover water. It’s been years water flowed through this river and the illegal sand mine is one of a reason to barren its flow... and I always wish for an off-road trail on the river bed which never happened and don’t believe to be happening though! sign

A day with baby Barath

I could count it as one of a blissful day in my life and the four and a half months old made my day indeed pleasure and impressive watching through his activities of innocent smiles, laughter, rollover and seldom sweet cries. One of my cousins came home last week with her baby boy, after long time and since delivery; and thinking about our pet she avoids visiting us and yet days before going to her in-laws house she decided to visit us and stayed over a night.
Me and nephew Barath
Me and Nephew Barath
I ever seen a kid like him so cheerful and enthusiastic and almost smile looking at everyone; he’s very quiet while sleeping and laughter aloud once wakeup and only cries when hunger strikes… otherwise he’s happy playing and rolling around. I had abundant opportunity to capture each of his activity and gesture, almost adorable and cute, to stay never ever away from memories and cherish each time checking over my pictures on him.

He’s named as Barathan alias Barath, but he has many nicknames called by each other and the common one is ‘Bujju’ and during the first 2 month I heard he was very very quite unlike other kids who used to cry often. Huh! He sees everything quite opening his eyes and even began to watch television without blinking a second… his tiny fingers and pristine feet make me wonder how many miles and summit this infant gonna patch its footprint despite stroll.

Pls. take a minute of your time to check the photo slideshow below and I hope you all will enjoy few of the photos - from the many taken on this adorable infant, wearing innocent smiles and expression.

விலகிடு உயிரை / Depart my life

Image: Google
உயிரே என்  உயிரே
என்னுள் நீ எங்கே?
தேடினேன்  காணவில்லை;
ஆனாலும் விலகிடு
இரவு  விடியும்  முன்.

போதும் இந்த துயரம்;
படுத்தும் உறங்கவில்லை
புரண்டும் படுக்கவில்லை
உயிரே  விலகிடு
வலிகள் ஏதுமின்றி

என் நிழலே
என்னை சோதிக்கிறது;
குழம்பினேன் இரவில்
நிழலா இருளா என
விலகிடு உயிரை இருளில்.

பகலில்  புன்னகை
இரவினில் வெறுமனே
வியந்து நின்றது நெஞ்சம்;
விலகிடு உயிரை
நிலவில்லா நேரம் பார்த்து.

Translation in English follows:

My beloved life
where’re you in me
I searched like missing;
however depart me
the night before the dawn.

Enough the grief;
I slept without slumber
I laid without turnover
depart my life
without any pain.

My shadow
checking me;
I puzzled at night
over darken and shadow
depart my life, in darkness.

The smile of the day
just bare at night
the heart stumbled to stay;
depart my life
while there’s no moon.

Kumbakkarai Falls

Kumbakkarai Waterfalls is 9km from Periyakulam on the foot of Kodaikanal Hills and its one of a tourist attraction of Tamil Nadu and the water is consider as mineral and herbal rich. I have visited this place twice, but I couldn’t get near the waterfalls since it has a series of steps leading down from the road and I could only see a stream of water at a distance.
Kumbakkarai Falls
The water falls at two stages; the first stage collects water in huge rock recesses   which are named each after wild animals like tiger, elephant… and the second stage is the main waterfall which flows as Pambar River. Kumbakkarai serves as a base camp for the trekkers who venture in the hills of Kodaikanal, which is 12km from here through a walking trail… created by British in early 1800s when they discovered Kodaikanal to escape from the heat on plains. But I’m not sure about the Ghats road that some said about its laid lately.
Kumbakkarai Falls
The photos of the falls where taken during our first visit in 2006 and it was almost dry when visiting again the falls in 2009. The place is surrounded by thick forest and wild animals’ esp. elephants are most encountered here and on our second visit we find the place is protected by electric fencing. During monsoon and rainy the falls receives much water which also exposed to risk of skidding rocks and stroked by flashflood.

Life is nothing… but

Image: Google
Life is nothing
but a phase on planet;
sometime it pain
like wound by sun
and stain
like the mess-up after rain.

Life is nothing
but sustain upon strain;
whether it rain or sunshine
under moon lit night
life movie on to gain,
as only remedy.

Life is nothing
but a song of sparrow
twitter of heart
rhythm of breath
embracement of love
and rhyme of friends.

Life is nothing
but unrest heart beat;
taking break
at something breathtaking
and sometime dreadful
about dear ones.

due to strong earth smell.

Glimpse of rain
put back the sense
by gentle kiss on leaves.

Gray patch of clouds

emphases of wealth.

On a drought day

Suo moto

Gone are the days waiting for the government to bring change or act on security and protecting the rights… But things are different now, the social concern and responsibility has shift hand from the government to courts and many important decisions taken lately by courts are simply strict and prudent.

However the government implement the rule are not totally taken into concern and many aren’t strong enough to withstand as long as government keep changing while in rule, the court orders has been the engross enhancement. Whether we agree or not, the court implement is equal to amendment that only an apex court could dismiss which is the last lookout for poor or rich to get rectified.

Take the instant of removing the black films from cars or the late rule on helmet and the recent ban imposed on the tourist activities around the tiger reserves across India is welcomed by everyone and no protest is raised against the implement. These are little brought under limelight and there are many I come across latterly in newspapers which I couldn’t remember all yet, the responsibility of courts has upright under the 'Suo Moto' of judges.

Even the social crime and abuse in society are taken through suo moto of judges on basic sense and humanity in recent past is all prudent and appraise humanitarian; and without fail they use their authority to notify or rectify any government on social interest and law and order. I wanna write one day appreciating the judges for their upholding democratic and humanitarian on public general in liberty and straight forward on ruling the unruly, wild and turbulent… I got the chance now after go through a suo moto of judge’s of Madras High Court, inquiring the fall to death of a  6 year old from a running school bus through a huge hole under her seat which shook the Chennaities a day before. It’s a pity disaster in itself!

Long live the judges with suo moto… and social interest!

Kiss at sunset

Image: Google
The sun set down
leaving fire on the lips
that burn to ashes by kiss.

The gentle wind caress
while the lips share ashore,
hold to passion and love.

The salt seawater
turns sweeter ever
by the spilt of mouth water.

The moisture wind
fought the warm breath;
forever to embrace in cold.

A fun and fantasy on kiss...Inspired by a photo I really miss to save as from internet which is behind the write up.

Tribute to maestro

This week there was a delightful topic on my favorite talk show ‘Neeya Nana’ in Star Vijay, on the songs of late 80s esp. the composition on maestro Ilaiyaraaja was just blissful and it was a debate so healthy and cheerful. Everyone comes up with their favorite song of Ilayaraja and how it connected with their lives and being close to heart… it’s so wonderful to hear each ones story and ardent being an Ilayaraja fan.

I wonder how they come up with single most favorite of all time… which I couldn’t do so far even harder I tired yesterday recalling his songs, I couldn’t come up with a single song mindset, because his songs each one set a mood in itself. I need to confess his songs always been a reliable source of my solace and whenever I feel so lone or depressed his songs stimulates my sense to cherish and set away the motion into peace.

I have innumerable songs in my walkman and PC on Ilayaraja and during my days on work on publication I used to listen to his songs and it make things favorable to do so and except being unable I pushed to left the work and since then I kept enjoying his songs unlike ever. While I aware about music, AR. Rahman was there along with others but without my knowledge Ilayaraja’s songs has been my favorite and I still remember the first tape-recorded we brought and it played was ilaiyaraja’s song from Amaran and Mannan… both has super hit songs.

Ilayaraja’s songs were always heartwarming and close to heart feel and only he makes so real the nature and feel of rural into his songs.  When it comes to love he has a special place on young hearts and left to never grow old and falling in love happens each time listening to his songs, whether happy or feel so sorry his songs cherish and rapture.

Liquor – Life at the edge

I don’t know how to begin... No I have no idea about trying the booze but certain things make concern about the risk factor involved in it. Obviously liquor has been an anti-social element for long taking away precious lives of many and putting families at sorrow; seems never to come to a conclusion only to rise in percentage.

The liquor has sent people to the edge of life, everyday taking risk at their loss of conscious on streets by knocking others or knocked by others... the damage is mostly for others who face an unexpected odd behavior on road. I want to write about the drunkards for some time now and need to condemn the media esp. the film industry promoting the liquor thought its many super hitting songs and sequence.  Those who really want to leave the liquor are impossible to continue as each scene, song and drama watched through television remind them to acquire the liquor.

I was out into the city two nights ago… on one hand it was heavy traffic and construction of metro rail and unruly drivers, and the other was the drunkards whom we suppose to encounter at twice brim. We were at sudden jerk but they are cool and casual at crossing road or wrong turning and we couldn’t blame them since they are not in their control.

Partially they bear their cost of life at lost and certainly the government does its best supporting part leaving not to depress their customers, and getting money from themselves to develop their infrastructure and free rice, education and shoes on their pledge of life. What the government earns through liquor shops is higher most among its income and the cause of liquor sold keeps the risk factor at the brim that cost a mass destruction on health, wealth and peace of the immense families.

I wish the government seeks an alternative source of income better than liquor and open rehabilitation centers in each location on the place of liquor shop to treat those addicted and only by bringing change in mind we could remove the boozing habit or the illegal liquor shop would grow at any hideout, which is endanger.  The drunkards have been increased contemporary as per liquors sold rose… it feels shame that our country or state develops on destructing a part to it to aid another.

The heaven comes down

Spring in summer
Picture by Jeevan - on Gulmohar
The drifting clouds
The songs of Koel
The blossom of Gulmohar
The droplets on leaves
The showering phases
Impresses me to core;

The twitter of birds
The arrival of insects
The moisture earth
The event of light thunder
The constant weather
Continues to please me ever;

The monsoon of west
Sent its blessing
The emotional heat
Makes up the earth cooling
The days gloom and bloom
Took bestow.
