Who?
Elephant Appreciation Day / Elephant day is sponsored by Mission media, Inc., a digital and print publisher of graphics. Mission Media is wholly owned by the Hepburn Family in Sarasota, Florida. Wayne Hepburn, the Publisher and President, established the day for the reasons outlined above.
Why they celebrate Elephant Day?
The founder, Wayne Hepburn, while living in the Chicago area in 1970 received as a gift from his twelve-year-old daughter a paperweight whose base was encircled by a parade of elephants. He subsequently bought here and there an elephant figure. By 1978 when he moved to Orange Park, Florida he had eighty or so elephants crowding out the books in his living room bookcase.
He became more interested in elephants and began reading and learning about them, seeking them out, riding them, and fed his growing passion for elephants with a collection which in 1997 numbers one thousand nine hundred nine catalogued items. The catalogued items include: figures, toys, clothing articles, books (over 100), music boxes, jewelry, prints and original art ... in short, every imaginable art and artifact bearing or made in the likeness of an elephant. In addition he has collected examples of elephant images used in publicity, advertising, brand identifications, cartoons, and all manner of print and other media applications.
He obtained a World Wide Web domain, elephanteria.com in 1996 and posted the only site of its kind on the web ... ELEPHANTERIA as a place where people who love elephants can find their heart's desires and links to everything not contained in the site. The Wild Heart trade name was sold in 2001 and Elephanteria ownership reverted to Mission Media, Inc.
Elephant Day, unlike community festivals, has no central event. It is to be observed and enjoyed by anyone anywhere on a local level.
Now days all of them celebrating different things every day. Who knows, they will also celebrate a Day for Ant, Rat, Snake, Pig, dinosaur ect… any how good things happen is ok.

The Island review Ends
While he returning from that place after seeing the incidents, he was captured in hidden video camera. While check the camera the gang head saw him on the video and tells the guards to catch him but he is escaping with his best friend (Scarlett) who is ready to go for Island. And tell her the details what is happening there. And they two come out of that place, and seeing the world for there first in there life. They travel for some kilometers and go to a bar; there they saw a scientist who works in cloning gang. Ewan attack the scientist, then the scientist tell them they are not normal humans they are cloned person. I realize from this scene they are cloned. The scientist help them to go for city, he gives his credit cards and some cash.
They travel in a bullet train and goes to city. The cloning gang head sent some illegal police to catch them; they escape from police and running. The chasing shot was amazing it looks like Video Game. The Ewan and Scarlett where jump on a tanker lorry and removing the iron wheels from the tanker. The wheels hits the cars and Vans in which the police travel the hitting scene was super and the cars and vans are destroying and from tanker they jump on a bike the bike is super, it fly like a flight in the sky and goes like a bike in read, they take the bike and flying and helicopter chase them and finally the bike crash on a big building (like September 11 incident) and they were hanging on a advertisement board and the board falls from the highest building, but they escape.
They hide in a house, there they saw a man like Ewan (Hero) they were shocked. And they tell the incidents what happen to them. The duplicate Ewan tell the he will help, but Scarlett dint hope him. Duplicate Ewan present him a super car, he teach Ewan how to drive. He takes Ewan to drive on the road and that time police came and chase him. The duplicate Ewan is a member of that illegal Police; he gives the message to them. Finally the police catch them. Here the two Ewan tell police I am not Cloned, I am not cloned finally the police shoot the dupicate Ewan and take them. They release the Ewan (hero) and he went to his best friend and tells I am Ewan the duplicate was killed by police. Here there Love Starts as usual with a beautiful kiss.
Ewan and Scarlett put a plan to save the cloned people who are in under the control of the cloning gang, but police catch Scarlett and take him to the cloning place, she escape from them and Ewan is also coming to that place. Now the gang sent some cloned person to Island, to take there organs and kill, but Ewan and Scarlett release them and Destroyed that gang and kill the scientists. And all of them coming out of that place and get freedom. Now the Ewan’s Dream comes True. Ewan and her Lover (Scarlett), travel on the Boat. The End.
For Michael Bay (Director), this is an opportunity to strike into new territory. The special effects are among the best I had seen recently.
The chemistry between him and Scarlett Johansson makes it that much more interesting, especially when you know that their minds are only as developed as that of 15-year-olds. The Island had the potential to be as philosophical and profound as The Matrix, but it simply chooses not to. Hence, it does not tax your brain too much, just teases it a little and goes down fighting, all guns blazing.
You just cannot leave your brains behind, when you watch this movie.
Overall it was a Sci-fi action adventure. Watch it soon.

The Island Review 1
My dad and me yesterday went to Prathana Drive-in Theater to see The Island. I was very interested to saw the movie, so I told to my dad to go soon and see the movie from first. But the movie starts at 7.15. Every time I like to go to theater before 10 minutes the film start, because I like to see the Documentary film, yesterday they put the Child labor Documentary film, it was very nice. The story tells education is an important to every child. Children’s age below 14 should not go to work.
After the Documentary movie finished the Island starts
The Story
There was a gang of scientist who creates Cloning Humans and takes their organs and selling, after selling the organs they kill them. From there two cloning persons (Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson). Were escaping and coming to the city. They see the world for the first time, and they realize they are cloning persons. The gang sent the illegal Police to catch the, they are escaping from them and running running and running for 45 minutes. And afterwards they decided do help the Cloning people and release them from there and destroyed that place.
Details of Island (ScreenPlay).
The movie starts on the boat. Here the camera was flying from the air it shows a blue sea,
and a boat, In that boat a beautiful girl was standing and a man coming near to that girl, suddenly they both fall in to the sea and suddenly the man opens his eyes and seeing that, it was a dream. He was the Hero Ewan McGregor and the beauty girl is Heroine (Scarlett Johansson).
Ewan is living in a place like big hospital. There are lots of people roaming in white dress like prisoners. I thought they are workers working or scientist. The hero and some persons are going into a room, it looks like a lift, inside that room there was a screen, some words are coming on the screen like who will win the lottery. In that many faces are coming, from that they will select a person and send them to Island. But really they are not sending them to Island. What is Island? I am very confused.
The head of the cloning call the Ewan (hero) and asking what r u going to do what is u r dream, he tells him about his boat dream. For 20 minutes I cant understand what is going on. The next day Ewan’s (Hero) Best friend Heroine (Scarlett Johansson) was selected to go for Island. They all have a party with her, because she is going to Island. Now Ewan has a doubt about the place where he is stay, he like to know what is happening. So he search for what is happening there, he hide and seeing a incident, a pegnent lady deliver a baby and they sold the baby to a couple who have no kid, afterwards they kill the women. He was shock, while returning from there he saw an amazing scene. I was surprised to see that scene Wow!

Kozhi Thiruden (Hen Thief)
In Rumania’s ease city one person stole 7 Hens from his neighbor Hen farm. His neighbor fields a case against him in near police station. So he escaped to neighboring country so his name was joined in International criminals list. After escaping to another country he come to his country after 4 years. That time he was checked by border security and they decided his as an International criminal. After the investigation, they declared him as Hen thief, and send him 3 years prison.
How do u think about this, 3 year punishment for Hen robbery is excess? I think the punishment for 3 year to this small case, should give, and then only big crime will reduce.

SunTV what happen to you?
You see the films Sachin, Mayavi and Thoti Jaya are produced my S.Dhanu’s V Creation. I do no why they dint put this films. I think political should be the motive for this. Because Suntv is supporting DMK. But DMK President Karunanidhi’s Grandson (M.K.Stalins son) is going to produce a movie for Vijay; in this situation why they dint put Vijay’s Sachin. For Thoti Jaya, Simbu is son of Actor T.Rajendre, just a years before he come out from DMK and start a new party it can also be a reason for it I think. This is my guess. DMK support any body in my blog friends I am sorry. Any one knows the reason?

About Adyar Cancer Institute
Dr Muthulakshmi Reddy, India's first woman medical graduate and a social reformer, fulfilled a long-cherished dream; she began the Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai.
Dr Reddy had lost her young sister to cancer in 1923. Her sister was being treated at India's only specialised cancer hospital, located in Patna, Bihar. It set her thinking. She could afford to take her sister to Patna. What about the poor?
So Dr Reddy sent her only son, S Krishnamurthy, to the United States, Switzerland and the UK to train in cancer treatment. When he returned, the Adyar Cancer Institute was formed with the objective of providing the best cancer treatment to the poor.
They were joined by Dr V Shanta. As a house surgeon in 1950, she had seen Dr Krishnamurthy work in the cancer unit of the government-run General Hospital. She had heard him talk to large audiences about the plight of poor cancer patients. "It was very moving. I felt I should participate in their effort," she says.
The Institute began with two doctors, Krishnamurthy and Shanta, a single building with minimal diagnostic and therapeutic facilities and a cluster of 12 huts to house the patients. The only cancer hospital in south India, it was established with public donations as a voluntary, charitable, non-profit institution.
It was a very difficult journey. Finances were hard to come by and daily existence was a struggle. It was a frustrating and painful period because people did not understand us. The first thing people asked me those days was, 'Where were you trained?' My reply, 'Here in India, in Madras,' did not make many happy! Dr Shanta, who took over as the Institute's director and chairperson when Dr Krishnamurthy retired in 1979, recalls.
Another person who has been with the Institute since the beginning is Matron Janaki. As she immersed herself in her work, she even "forgot to marry." "I got attached to the hospital, the patients and my work. My life is this hospital because I spend 24 hours a day, 365 days a year here. Even though I am 60, I continue to work here as I have no other home.
Dr Shanta says the Institute grew because of "international philanthropy," especially from Christian organisations. Now, aid is hard to come by because 'they feel India has developed.'
The Institute's first break came on Christmas eve, 1956, when Atomic Energy, Canada, gifted a Cobalt-60 Teletherapy unit (radiation therapy machine); it was the first such unit in Asia.

Gajini Coming Soon
Surya's Ghajini is the most eagerly awaited movie ever since its audio with music by Harris Jayaraj became a chartbuster. The release has been postponed a couple of times and now it is finally slated for September end. It is an all-out action adventure directed by A. R. Murugadoss.
The theme is offbeat. It is about a man who suffers from short-term memory loss after a head injury. He starts tattooing names of people and places on his body as he tries to unravel the mystery behind his wife's killers. According to Surya, who is paired with two girls Asin and Nayantara: It is a technically superior, edge-of-the-seat thriller that is sure to be an entertainer. It is superbly packaged too.

Captain and his political party
Captain has chosen former Chief Minister M.G.R. as his role model, because MGR had turned from Actor to politician. I think it is very difficult to captain to come as chief minister like MGR or Jayalalithaa. But I hope he will definitely have some reason to start a political party, again I hope he will do some thing to people. Captain said his party would protect the interests of farmers, weavers and fishermen. Quality education for all would be another area of thrust. No student should be denied of education for want of money. He also must have some ideas for sharing Caveri water and built a better relationship with neighbors. There are many religion parties in our country, but Captain welcomes all religions. From the first when he started acting, he has an eye on politics. Now it comes true.
We should encourage and bless, captain to win in his war.

Brain Power meet Army Power
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would tell Pakistan, that his government was not sleeping for the last 365 days when they meet in New York today. It could be the Prime Minister’s turn to talk about sleepy Pakistan villages, all habitation around Mansehra, which have centers for training militants to be sent into Indian, and Afghanistan.
Dr.Singh would tell the Musharraf that the terror network has gained more vigour in the past few months and Pakistan should follow up on Musharraf’s promise to deny a base for terrorist organizations. The external affairs ministry believes that even though Musharraf is serious about curbing jehadi infiltrators, many of the commitments on stopping terrorism have not been translated action on the ground.
Business is very high on Manmohan Singh’s agenda. We expect the New York summit would be an opportunity to boost the economic side of the relationship between two countries. Major initiatives of Singh have worked: inaugurating Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service and allowed Harriyat leaders to Pakistan in same route. Thy bus service may not be getting enough patronage, but it has changed the mood on both sides Kashmir. Singh could promise high level of contract and reduce in armed forces in the Kashmir valley if violence stops. And reducing troops from Siachen. Dr Singh hopes Pakistan would provide transit facilities throught its soil to Afghan, center Asia, Iran and the Gulf. The proposal for the $3 billion gas pipeline form Iran to Pakistan and India, on which all three countries have agreed in principle, still has many hurdles to cross.
Dr.Singh would be telling Musharraf that giving general transit facility for goods from and to India would help Pakistan develop its trade and infrastructure.
I hope the peace process should continue smooth.

And I dint sleep the whole night; I was thinking for a long, it confused my brain. After wards I asked to me, why don’t we try wheel chare? My parents are happy because they told me with the help of wheel chare u could go anywhere and see the world. But I am normally very shy person, I feel very bad. After wards I decided to take wheel chare, but my confusion dint end.
Why I wrote this because, I want to tell this to any body, did I have a friend I will definitely tell to him about this. Now I have many friends (blog friends) so I like to share my words with you friends.

4th Anniversary of terrorist attack on World Trade Center
The September 11, 2001 attacks were a series of coordinated attacks carried out against the United States on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. According to the official 9/11 Commission Report, nineteen men affiliated with al-Qaeda, a network of militant Islamist organizations, hijacked four American airliners. Two were crashed into the World Trade Center in Manhattan, New York City one into each of the two tallest towers, about 17 minutes apart shortly after which both towers collapsed. The third aircraft crashed into the U.S. Department of Defense headquarters, the Pentagon, in Arlington County, Virginia. The fourth plane crashed into a rural field in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, 80 miles east of Pittsburgh, following passenger resistance.
The 9/11 Commission reports that these attackers turned the hijacked planes into the largest suicide bombs in history and the most lethal acts ever carried out in the United States. The September 11th attacks are arguably the most significant events to have occurred so far in the 21st century in terms of the profound economic, social, cultural and military effects that followed in the United States and many other parts of the world.
The militant Islamist group al-Qaeda, which had been involved in several previous attacks on American targets, praised the attacks and its leaders hinted at their involvement in the incidents. Osama bin Laden had earlier declared a jihad against the United States. Shortly after the attacks, the United States government declared al-Qaeda and bin Laden the prime suspects.
New York authorities have ended efforts to identify victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, leaving the remains of nearly half the 2,749 people killed in the World Trade Center unidentified. Estimated total of deaths and injured is 3400.
We all should pray for the people who had died on 9/11.
September 11 has come to be identified with the infamous terrorist acts perpetrated against the U.S. on that day in 2001. But there is much more to it from the perspective of peace than terrorism.
It was on this day in 1906 that Mahatma Gandhi, the apostle of non-violence, launched the peace movement against the South African Government.
Swami Vivekananda delivered his historical address in Chicago on September 11 in 1893, bringing to fore the concept of universal brotherhood. The Bhoodan Movement leader Vinoba Bhave was born on the day in 1895. It also happens to be the memorial day of Tamil poet and freedom fighter Subramaniya Bharathi. Viewed against this background, the 9/11 terror attacks seem a blot on what otherwise could be called a `peace day.

About Me
How Muscular Dystrophy affects me?
It was from my birth, but we identified only on my age 8 when I was studying in 3rd standard. First I got problem in walking and it come down slowly and now I cant walk only with Caliper. I can’t walk on steps and can’t stand up from a chare, sometimes I will fall down. We had seen many doctors; all told there is no treatment for this Muscular Dystrophy. But researches are going in Germany, France and in U.S. Currently I am taking Ayurveda medicine and doing Physiotherapy. My health is going down every day and muscles are becoming week.
I like to be a normal person but I can’t. I like to do what are all people doing, like Playing, Working, Friends, (now I have no friends, it is the only worry for me). We can share our good and bad thinks to friends, because we cant share this to Parents or others.
Muscular Dystrophy, which affected me. (Limb-girdle)
Muscular Dystrophy (MD) is a genetic disease characterized by progressive weakness and degeneration of the skeletal muscles, which control the body’s movement. Muscular Dystrophy takes on several forms, thus Muscular Dystrophy can be properly referred to as Muscular Dystrophies. Some of the forms of Muscular Dystrophy are detectable at birth these forms of Muscular Dystrophy are referred to as Congenital Muscular Dystrophy. However, others are detectable during the adolescence years, and are called Becker Muscular Dystrophy or Becker MD. The three most prevalent types of Muscular Dystrophy are as follows:
· Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy or Duchenne MD is found principally in young males. This form of Muscular Dystrophy is the result of mutations in the gene that regulates Dystrophin. Dystrophin is a protein utilized to help maintain muscle fibers. The disease is detectable in during the early years of a childs life (toddler years) and progresses rapidly. Most boys become unable to walk during their early teenage years, and by their early twenties require the use of a respirator to breathe.
· Facioscapulohumeral MuscularDystrophy or Facioscapulohumeral MD can be both mild and disabling in the severity of its symptoms. This form of Muscular Dystrophy appears during the adolescence years causing progressive weakness in the facial muscles as well as in the arms and legs.
· Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy or Myotonic MD varies in the age of onset and is characterized by Myotonia. Myotonias are prolonged muscle spasms in the fingers and facial muscles. Individuals with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy are identifiable by their long faces and drooping eyelids (frontal baldness in men).
· Becker's muscular dystrophy (slowly progressive form of MD; affects legs and pelvis most severely)
· Duchenne's muscular dystrophy (similar to Becker's, but progresses more rapidly)
· Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (mild, slowly progressive form; face, shoulders, and upper arms affected)
· Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy
Disorders are distinguished by the type of inheritance (dominant genes, recessive gene, and so on), the age when symptoms appear, and the types of symptoms that develop. Because these are inherited disorders, risks include a family history of muscular dystrophy.
Symptoms:
· muscle weakness
o progressive
o frequent falls
o delayed development of muscle skills
o problems walking
o difficulty using a muscle group (the specific muscle affected depends on the type of MD)
o eyelid drooping (ptosis)
o drooling
· intellectual retardation
o present in only some types of muscular dystrophy
· floppy, decreased muscle tone (hypotonia)
· skeletal deformities
· muscle deformities
· clawfoot
· clawhand
Diagnosis:
Examination and history help to distinguish the type of MD. Different types of MD affect specific muscle groups. There often is a loss of muscle mass (wasting), which may be disguised in some types of muscular dystrophy by an accumulation of fat and connective tissue (pseudohypertrophy). Muscle contractures are common, which involve the inability to use the muscle because of shortening of the muscle fibers and fibrosis of the connective tissue. Some types of MD involve the heart muscle, causing irregular or inadequate heart pumping. Other points of note include:
· A muscle biopsy is the primary test used to confirm the diagnosis.
· A serum CPK (muscle enzyme) may be elevated.
· An EMG (electromyography) may confirm that weakness is caused by destruction of muscle tissue rather than damage to nerves.
Treatment
None of the Muscular Dystrophies have a specific treatment available at present. Treatment is aimed at controlling symptoms to maximize the quality of life. Activity is encouraged to the degree tolerated. Inactivity (such as bedrest) can worsen the muscle disease. Physical therapy may be helpful to maintain muscle strength and functioning. Orthopedic appliances such as braces and wheelchairs may improve mobility and self-care abilities.

Sensex Boom
Creating history of sorts, the Bombay Stock Exchange 30-share Sensex on Thursday raced past the 8050-mark to hit a new peak of 8060 on frenzied all-round buying support with foreign institutional investors playing a pivotal role in a buoyant market, which is poised for further gains.
Bolstered by ample liquidity, the benchmark 30-share index (Sensex) scaled a new intra-trade record high of 8060.26 before ending the day at a new closing peak of 8052.56, a net rise of 105.78 points or 1.33 per cent over Tuesday's close of 7946.78. The Sensex covered the 1000-point journey in a short span of 55 trading days, riding high on aggressive purchases by FIIs from June onwards. It had reached the 7000 mark on June 20.
According to a leading stockbroker, the market is fundamentally strong and can rally further if it closed above the magic 8000 level for two continued trading sessions. However, another brokerage house chief said though the valuations were slightly stretched and needed to be cautious in the short-term, the bull phase in the long-term could be sustainable. Meanwhile, the Union Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, endorsed the rally saying that the Sensex rise was not a cause for worry or concern and market movements were orderly.
Global oil prices also fell below $65 a barrel level a further plus point for the upbeat sentiment. The FIIs reportedly were extending their long positions in futures while making fresh purchases in cash. They have reported net investments of over Rs. 800 crore in September so far. Operators and private mutual funds also were believed to be heavy buyers in select stocks, which promise high returns at the prevailing price levels.
Heavyweights such as HDFC, RIL, Infosys Technologies, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Auto, BHEL, Grasim, Tata Motors, ONGC, Bharti Tele-Ventures and L&T scored impressive gains.

Garbage dump turned into World Heritage Site
Just three years ago, the valley was a garbage dump. It took the extraordinary effort of a forest officer Jyotsna Sitling to change it into a world heritage site.
The Valley of Flowers, ensconced within the upper Himalayan ridges at 3,200 to 6,675 metres over 87.5 sq. km, had its own cachet of conservation concerns. About five lakh Sikh pilgrims converge at the Hemkund Sahib shrine here from June to October every year. The 19-km long route to the shrine is through the Bhyundar Valley, which is also the access to the Valley of Flowers. The ecosystem of Bhyundar was under great pressure because of the accumulation of garbage and plastic waste, said Srikant Chandola, chief wildlife warden of Uttaranchal.
Sitling's department prepared a conservation plan for the entire region. One of the first things was to clear an 87-tonne pile of garbage (which matched the surrounding peaks!) from the buffer zone of Nanda Devi biosphere. The work required synergy between many agencies and involved sensitive livelihood and ecological issues. Hence, Sitling's department struck upon a participatory approach. They crafted mini pockets of 40 van (forest) panchayats and 60 Mahila Mangal Dals to make conservation a socially and economically self-alleviating experience for the local people. The disposal of garbage involved no burning, burying or draining of the refuse through the water gradient. The Mahila Mangal Dal packed all non-biodegradable waste in 14,000 sacks and transported them on mule back to Govind Ghat, 19 km away, for recycling.
The department has formed an eco-development committee to maintain the ecology of the Bhyundar Valley. Local youth have formed 'Friends of The Valley of Flower Group' to promote environmental cause. They have also been trained to become guides for tourists in the valley. The community was trained to grow and preserve medicinal plants, exotic condiments and traditional crops. This ultimately helped prevent poaching and illegal removal of herbs from nearby forests. Local people were also encouraged to document and preserve their culture and folklore. The department underscored cleanliness in home stay facilities with the flavour of exquisite remoteness.
Slowly, the region's ecosystem started showing signs of regeneration. Egged on by the Archaeological Survey Of India, Sitling's department nominated the Valley of Flowers for the UN World Heritage list in 2002. Nowhere else in the Himalayan region will a tourist find a trove of over 500 flowering plants in profusion (from May to October) within a compact 87 km.
The UN team visited the region in September 2004 to assess the conservation status, its management strategy and the community interface in the conservation of the two parks. On July 14 this year, Sitling got a call from Unesco informing her about the world heritage status to the valley. The World Heritage Site list includes 812 properties which form a part of the unique cultural and natural heritage of the earth. Of these, 628 are cultural sites, 160 natural sites and 24 mixed sites.
The valley's international status has other positive spin-offs, like attracting more international tourists and global conservation funds. Not to mention a thrilled local populace who can now go back to boasting, How green is my valley.

Memories of Mother
The entire world was saddened to learn of Mother Teresa’s death Yesterday (who died on 5 September, 1997). People from every continent, from every walk of life and from every persuasion grieved her loss and spoke of her with love. Again and again, she was praised as one of this century’s great humanitarians.
That she was – but she was so much, much more. In truth, Mother Teresa’s life and work cannot be explained apart from her clear, uncompromising Catholic faith and her profound love for the Lord Jesus. That is the key, which unlocks who she was and what she did as a lover of the poor and a universally respected advocate for human life and dignity.
As a young woman growing up in her native Albania she experienced the faith of her parents. Successful and prosperous, they were also generous to those in need. From her father, a well-traveled merchant, the future Mother Teresa learned of human suffering in various parts of the world. From her parish priest, she learned about the foreign missions. As she grew to adulthood, she sensed God’s call to religious life and to missionary activity. At the age of 18 she accepted His call in faith and in loving trust by becoming a Sister of Loretto and by embarking to far-off India. It was in India that she received much of her religious formation deepening her already ardent faith and love. It was also in India that she encountered the poor as she labored in a hospital in Bengali, and later, in a school in Calcutta. Wherever she went and whatever she did, her faith and trust in Jesus prompted her to open her heart and hands to the poor.
Yet the Lord was asking more of her. He was asking her to dedicate her whole life to the poorest of the poor. In 1948, the Holy Father granted her permission to begin a new religious order, the Missionaries of Charity – dedicated to the poor and abandoned on the streets of Calcutta. All this she did as a woman of faith. Her philosophy of life was simple. She summed it up this way: Give God permission to work through you. The work is God’s work. The poor are the Lord’s poor. Put yourself completely under the influence of Jesus, so that He may think His thoughts with your mind, [and] do His work through your hands.
The Jesus she knew in deep prayer she met also in the poor. At the very heart of her life and mission are the words from St. Matthew’s Gospel: ‘whatever you did for one of these least brothers, you did for me.’ Truly, she recognized the Lord Jesus in the abandoned leper dying in the streets, in the person ravaged by AIDS, in the newborn baby in need of a home, in children, hungry and neglected – and she taught her sisters to do the same. Mother saw Jesus in the poor and the dying but she also led them to Jesus and His love. She did not pity the poor but loved and respected them as human beings called to eternal life and glory. Her goals were simple and straightforward: to comfort them in hunger and illness and to open their hearts to God’s love. She knew they needed bread, but also the living word of God. She knew they needed water, but also peace, truth, and justice. She knew they needed a home but also a loving embrace and deep respect.v
We pray that she will rejoice forever, accompanied by those whose lives she touched.
May the angels lead her to paradise.
May the martyrs welcome her.
May she rejoice in the Holy City Jerusalem
where Lazarus is poor no longer!

Teacher's Day September 5th
A student spends 25,000 hours in the campus. The school must have the best of teachers who have the ability to teach, love teaching and build moral qualities.
- President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
Teachers mold the lives that they influence. Lessons learned from teachers remain with their students throughout life. Teachers that break down barriers and reach into the souls of the students that they are responsible for do not get the recognition or gratitude they have earned. Many teachers are exhausted from their workload and responsibilities. They have their own families, financial and life stresses that challenge them along with everyone else. We should always respect our teachers. Teachers need encouragement and support from the community to feel that their devotion to students is appreciated.
Socrates was an example of a good teacher. He considered himself a learner as well as a teacher. For Socrates, love and friendship were the proper contexts for the pursuit of wisdom and goodness. Socrates saw himself only as a catalyst. He felt it was not his teaching, but actually the power of the Divine, which enabled the person, he was talking with to improve himself.
Why do we celebrate Dr.Radhakrishnan birthday as teacher’s day?
In India 5th September is celebrated as Teachers' day. 5th September is the birthday of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. When Dr. Radhakrishnan became the president of India in 1962, some of his students and friends approached him and requested him to allow them to celebrate 5th September, his "birthday". In reply, Dr, Radhakrishnan said, "instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege if September 5 is observed as Teachers' day". The request showed Dr.Radhakrishnan's love for the teaching profession. From then onwards, the day has been observed as Teachers' Day in India.
About Radhakrishnan
Born on September 5, 1888, at Tiruttani, 40 miles to the north-east of Chennai, Radhakrishnan grew to become the most famous Indian teacher and philosopher of all times. He was also the Vice-President of India from 1952-1962. He held the office of the Chancellor, University of Delhi, before taking over as the President of India in May 1962.

Youth icon of the year Sania Mirza
On February 12, 2005, Sania Mirza became the first Indian woman to win a WTA singles title defeating Alyona Bondarenko of Ukraine in the Hyderabad Open Finals. Sania Mirza has achieved a lot of fame in a very short time and this can be attributed to her looks and talents and shortage of women sports personalities in India.
Sania Mirza surely needs to perform better to keep up the vibe and popularity that has been created!
Sania Mirza lost to Serena Williams in the 3rd round of the Australian Open.
According to the Womens Tennis Association (WTA) latest charts, Sania has reached 48th position from her earlier 59th position and sixth among Asian players.
Sania lost her third round match against Japan’s Akiko Morigami to crash out of the $1.3 million Acura Classic tennis tournament.

A hi-tech crematorium in India
Unlike the run of the mill crematorium, the structure on the Sarkej-Gandhinagar highway, with a huge idol of Shiva outside and manicured gardens, is architecturally aesthetic. When a dead body arrives here, the relatives can use the prayer hall to offerfinal prayers for the departed soul. On music system relatives can pray bhajans of their choice.
Many appreciate the Internet facility: relatives in distance places, (particularly in Foreign) can view the last rites of their loved ones by logging on to the website of the crematorium Cameras are fitted in different spots including in the area near the furnace. They can relay images live through the Internet.
At least 70 bodies have been cremated already, and some of them used this facility from London and U.S. The crematorium is also equipped to burn bodies in the traditional manner using wood.
What a change!

A bid for life
It all began on August 28, 1990 when Sarabjit Singh, 40 strayed into Pakistan apparently in an inebriated state. Two days later he was arrested by the Pakistani Rangers near the Kasur border and jailed on charges of espionage. They alleged he was Manjit Singh of India’s Research and Analysis Wing and that he was involved in bomb blast. An anti-terrorism court implicated him on October 2 that year and he was awarded the death sentence. Sarabjit appealed to the apex court.
In mid-July, Sukhpreet kaur, 36, wife of Sarabjit Singh of Bikhiwind in Amritsar, was jubilant. She had received a message that her husband Sarabjit, sentenced to death in Pakistan, would be released after15 years. On Independence Day, the two countries would show warmth and bonhomie by exchanging prisoners from across the border, she was told. But on August 20, her world shattered when the Pakistan Supreme Court upheld the death sentence.
Sukhpreet’s hopes were raised when she heard from Pakistani advocate Rana Abdul Hamid, who was fighting for her husband’s release, that he had more or less establishes that Sarabjit was not a spy. Pakistani human rights activist Asma Jahangir had taken a personal interest in the case. But it had all been in vain.
Sukphreet is now determined to fight for her husband, who she says is innocent. Helped by relatives and neighbors in the village, and her daughters Sapnadeep and Poonam, she had taken the Sarabjit story to most homes in the country through the media. The family approached Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Abdul Kalam for his release. The issue was raised in Parliament.
While the case is being taken up at the highest levels in the two countries, Sarabjit’s younger daughter, who has never seen her father, is organizing a protest along with her schoolmates. They will appeal to President Musharraf, Sukhpreet says. We will appeal to Allah and Wahegure. What else can we do?
When we got the news of the death sentence, we felt like committing suicide in protest, she says. Then decided that we have to fight the case again. We have to be strong. Some of the family members are praying.
Like them we can also pray for our brother Sarabjit
