What a Life:((
Skin covered bone, mother give milk to there child with there wither breast, people are standing in miles to get food. Like this we are seeing many photos in many Blogs and in Televisions recently. These scenes are from country Somalia.
Somalia is an African country. In this country’s total people population 70percent are living in unfavorable or poverty. If we take four person in Somalia, in this we can get protective water for only one person. Medical facilities are very worst; if any diseases attack them the only way is death. For 25,000 people there is only one doctor. Doctors and medicine are big scarcity, because of this the people who face the death is very high. In the total in population 60percentt people are living in slum.
This history drought in Somalia have described as extreme of humanity. Here averagely at least 200 people are dying every day. Approximately 44 lakhs people are dying and living in hunger and cruelty every day.
Somalia’s destitute should walk to reach the organized destitute centre which was separated for them. There are a lot of stories that many people who have died in there way to the destitute center. There are lot of children’s have died when there Leg depression when they stand and moving on the long row to get food.
This is the worst human cruelty which we haven’t seen in the history. The heart breaking news is, in Somalia’s four by one contribution children’s dint saw there 5th birthday.
Unsettled politics and droughts are the main reason for the people in Somalia to face this situation. After the Presidents Siyaithpara rule was dissolved in 1991, the violence takes the people to support the anti agitators. Anti-agitators took the food grains, which was supplied to people and sale it to highest rate. 1kg of rice which was sale Rs.20 two years back, but now it raised to Rs.280. Thousands of people have died in diseases and hungry related diseases. People eat dry grass like Bulls, eat cloths, and goat skins to save there life. For all this cruelties, I think the human’s mistakes are the only reason. The drought not only affect Somalia, also affected many African countries like Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Burundi and Tanzania.
The UN report said that approximately 1.7 million people are in need of urgent assistance and protection in Somalia. The United Nations and other humanitarian organizations are providing assistance in various sectors (food, livestock and agriculture, health, nutrition, water and sanitation) in the regions they have been able to access. This is not enough; the Developed countries should come forward to help them. But all developed countries are only taking about the Terrorism, how to win in election, searching for reasons to put Wars and create nuclear energy. No one is thinking about the Africans.
it has actually become a metaphor for famine and poverty, the word SOMALIA
ReplyDeleteThis is the saddest thing I read in a while...altho I knew that ppl r dying in hunger in the African continent I was shocked to hear that they eat dry grass like Bulls, cloths, and goat skins to save there life! How can we spend so much money on weapons when some ppl dun even know the smell of bread??
ReplyDeleteKeshi.
paakavey kastama iruku , peverty should be eradicated like polio
ReplyDeleteIt is not fair to say that none are thinking about Africans but the fact is Canada, US and EU governments have their own aid programs. In last year's G8 summit Aid to developing nations has increased to 50 billion dollars but still many feel it is inadequate. Corrupt governance and civil wars are the root causes for suffering in Africa and these factors are also causing hindrance in delivering aid to needy people. If Africa Commission report is accepted by the west then it will create jobs and build economy but i don't think with its present form it will be ever accepted. When southern Somalia was under UN control for 2 years in 1993, UN did reduce severe food shortage problem there, so it shows that government with political will can lessen starvation of people but irony is that African war lords want their own people to starve for their political ambitions!. When our people in orissa ate grass, it is not because of lack of food grains but because of corrupt officials and lack of proper distribution channels.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, (Honestly) we can't get over our petty water politics and can't learn to share our resources but we want others to share their wealth!, isn't that hypocritical?.
Veda – we spend on arms is for our security, but we should to our best for help them.
ReplyDeleteVinesh – yes, u r right.
Keshi – it is a big cruelty that eating the goat skins.
Awakening – our pray is also the same.
Shuuro – I forget this G8 summit, when I was writing this, after reading your comment I remember the G8 conference which held last year in Scotland. I think the UN and G8 countries giving the relief and funds to the African countries government, they are corruption the funds and giving little to the people. Your comment is very informative, that the West is ready to create jobs for them, good news.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, (Honestly) we can't get over our petty water politics and can't learn to share our resources but we want others to share their wealth!, isn't that hypocritical? we itself can’t solve our problem (like water sharing, very shame) but we wanted to solve (or share) there problem
world hunger is a problem that defintely needs to be addressed. anyways a lot of african nations like sudan, somalia and tons of others face similar crisis..
ReplyDeletealso shurro mentioned that US allocated 50 mill $ for African Union.. but that bill has still not been passed.. and it is sitting in US senate. Also the govt. in Sudan in last few years has carried out systematic genocide and wiped out millions of africans.. similar things r happening in Darfur. Also slavery is still very much rampant there.
Sometimes I feel if US really wants to do something about all this, it can very well do. But it just doesnot want to!!
GOD! That is tragic. Sometimes one wonders whether it is worth spending 21 crores on making a movie while there are people suffering with no food absolutely.
ReplyDeleteRashmi.

Kunsjoi – very sad of Sudan’s systematic genocide. The richest countries like US, Russia and some Arab countries can help on there own. When they pass the bill and when the people get benefit? After there death?! :(
