Rain-clouds

Purple Sunset
A purple cloudy sunset by Jeevan

At the sight of gray clouds, took the umbrella
on the stretched sky, there’s no way to spread
while it pitter-pattered like rose water spattered
the rain-clouds flew away.

Just like the mirage, clouds
melts away in air in front of the eyes
the daily eventide is dull
while the climate remains just dry.

P.S. "Rose water spattering" is a kind of gesture to welcome guest at any South Indian festivals.

  2. Isn't it amazing how clouds are ever-changing? How a storm can disappear just as quickly as it arrived?

  6. This poem reflects hope & despair very well. The symbolism with rain and dry climate is excellent.

  11. Hello Jeevan,
    Nice photo of the clouds.
BTW - Mazhai May Not Come is the antonym for Mazahi Megham; for those amongst us, who may remember kadi jokes.

    Peace :)
