Being Onam today,
I thought of sharing some photos on our flowers bowl… since Onam is a festival
related with floral designs, called Pookalam, here is my mom’s arrangement of
flowers on the bronze bowl filled with water.
These pictures
where shot last year, while staying at our apartment house.
I always believe that pretty and fresh flowers will radiate good frequency around the house!
ReplyDeleteI am curious the reasons your mother did not place red or purple flowers?
how beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful arrangement. Festivals are reminder of our life that no matter what happens life is still happening! :)
ReplyDeleteEven the bowl holding the flowers are beautiful :)

Hi There, I learned something else from you today, ONAM. So Onam is a festival related to floral designs??... How special is that.....
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love flowers (nothing makes me smile faster than a beautiful flower)--I'd love that festival. Thanks for the flowers and thanks for sharing with us.
Hugs,
Betsy
Betsy - Onam is a traditional festival of a part of India, called Kerala. It is also considered as harvesting festival and festival of rain flowers, and celebration of King Mahabali’s annual visit. Since prehistory, it is believed that the King comes annually from the nether world to see his people living happily. The floral design or carpet is called Pookalam and it is made out of the gathered blossom with several varieties of flowers…and it is considered as auspicious.
