A word to abort

The Tamil word‘**tha’ is becoming trending. Those who knew Tamil will know what I mean. I don't say that the word has never been uttered in films before. Either that word would be muted or beeped. Or the user of that word will be a negative character, so it will not make a big impact. But when the protagonists themselves using that word become trending.

Actor Surya used that word in Soorarai Pottru, following actor Vijay in Master and G V too uttered the word '**tha' in his upcoming film while expressing his anger. I don't know what that means, but it's definitely an obscene word. Heroes are better off avoiding this as it may affect the growing generation.

I have heard some people speak this word casually, but since words like this come up in the films, it too will definitely affect the younger generation when great actors speak that word. I wish they do not create an "F word" culture in Tamil!

Language has gotten rather bad everywhere ~ There are so many movies that are tiresome to watch because of the bad language ~ sigh. Wishing you a happy day.

Thank you for this post -- I agree with you about the impact our current films and television shows may have on young people.

Vulgarity can ruin a movie with constant use. Bad for younger people to see and hear. Enjoy your day.

Some movies are just so full of horrible words and it is not shocking anymore. It is like you said becoming trendy but I hope directors get more responsible

I think it's a weak attempt to attract a certain type of consumer. Like how, in the yesteryears, heroes used cigarettes to attract young people, and then eventually dropped it, this too will be dropped.

Movies with coarse or foul language will somehow influence the younger generation.

Well said and its true i agree with you.these words are common in recent days .shame these people think that its common and normal to use such words.
i wonder whether these stars would use such words in front of their family and kids.

i was watching a melodious song in you tube in between the dialogues this swear word came :(

it completely ruined the beauty of that song

Well, I can suggest a way to avoid foul language in your vocabulary.
This method is inspired from Sanskrit language. Sanskrit has "sandhivichhedh". Mixing two words to make one word.
"@#ck" and "B$@ch" can be combined to "fubit". Say.
You think about using "fubit". Keep thinking and use it too.
The foul word will vanish.
Hope this helps.

Hello, It is still painful for me to sit at the computer, but you are such a loyal follower, that I felt I must make the effort to visit you.

What you write in your post is something I feel very strongly about.
The use of foul language is so distasteful to me, and has made the use of it, common amongst young people. I hope this trend will eventually pass, like most trends, like fashion. In my youth, films used to be censured, and much was left to the imagination, and all the better for it.
