Marine Mom

Folding wave
Pic by Jeevan (cick to enlarge)

A marine mom
we are your child,
how could u feed venom
to a kid crawling on the lap?

The lullaby sung waves
how become quiet threnody?
The stories untaught simulacrum
submerged into the eyelids.

To the expanded web
to become a victim of horror
being a brought up philanthropist
why hunger for life?

Sent a monster tsunami
why you slew?
To no one to shed tears
he killed everyone to hump.

P.S. A tribute to tsunami victims, wrote from a fishermen’s perspective.

Jeevan,

Very thoughtful and powerful! The second stanza (thamizh) is particularly telling.

I will use the word 'lovely' because the memories of the Tsunami are still painful for me though I only met people who had suffered from it. What stood out among some of them was the faith some of them still had on the sea: one old woman (about sixty, I'd think) had lost two grandchildren, her sons and one of her daughters-in-law, and still said that sea was her home. I was touched and close to tears.

Thank you Srini! Even our servant maid had lost her elder son to tsunami. Tsunami is an accident like one happens on road, and for that we can’t stop traveling. It’s out of our control but being cautious is significant and it applies for almost.

Tsunami, though traveling by sea, originates due to an earthquake on the land below the sea. So, technically, you cannot blame the sea for it!
