Kumki – Jumbo ride

Expectation is something we can’t avoid, however; even we get frustration sometime going overly anticipating. So was a film was wonderful, the anticipation happens robotically towards the filmmaker’s next venture and there’re only few in the film division whose makeup lives up to the feeling and enhance and embrace close to the heart.

From the time the movie was entitled, the anticipation began; since the movie is based on things I’m passionate about – nature and wild, how can a tamed elephant story become exception? Kumki is a Tamil name for the captive, trained Indian elephants that are used mostly for taming and training of newly captured wild elephants and also to lead away wild elephants that stray into human settlements.

Prabu Solomon, the director of the late fascinating film Mynaa has come up conjoining nature and music side by side, comprising romance and thriller leading the movie to emotional core. Set in a tribal village, which faces the stroke of wild elephant and lose of lives hires a trained elephant to tackle the tusker that threatening their lives and livelihoods; the mahout who falls in love with their tribal girl decided to stay there with his show elephant, which doesn't trained to combat a wild elephant. But how come he manages all in spite of love and venture on tusker; embark on an adventures ride.

The grandson of Sivaji, Vikram Prabu doesn’t let down the pride of greatest actors of all time, portrait as mahout perfectly, conveyed almost inherent of the character that distinctly noticed. Being a debut actor, his unfamiliar face is plus and Lakshmi Menon strikes through her cute expressions even expose to tremble, beholds a perspective native tribe women. The film was throughout fascinating and Thambi Ramaiah does a mainstream humor and character vise manipulate. The head of the tribe village is also a notable character.

There’s a lot to experience in the film which visually treat and sound track creates a vibrant and alive moments esp. the Jog falls sequence was stunning and an ever seen scene shot on the screen. Terrific! I really need to mention about Music, which is the heart beat of the feature film and songs are quite intimate with the scenes and no where it feels off track or disjoined. The scenes related to elephant destruction and battle are created through graphics; but the way u look into the screen will animate and the real elephant Manikam was truly admirable and being the largest land animal, its behaviors are very childish and creates a sympathy over its disposition.

I need to say the Kumki (movie) was completely blissful and worth watching! Get ready for a lovely experience :)

Mobile computer

Day by day technology only making easier the communication and computing and devices were becoming least in weight from kg’s to gm’s... and the operations has become simply and fast and adequate for anyone to understand and use. Before I began to use computer 12 years ago I had plenty of dreams on the device and the days waiting for it to get assembled at home were indescribable and feel of something great wanted.

In more than 10 years of using computer and internet, the last two year were only been different in operating the system and content with speed. Not so greatly distinguished, the communication and sharing remain same but least satisfied on using the device in person and set free from the fixed desktop to wireless laptop as couch comfort and now lately adds the mini tab making the social network friendly and entertainment.

I was looking for a Smartphone lately but couldn’t get a decent one in least price and expectation, so bought a Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0, an android based handset which only lacks phone option of the Smartphone’s. The versatile handset has a brilliant 5” LCD screen for clear view on letters and large virtual keys for typing comfort... the player has a long standing battery to withstand as a quite eBook reader and player of music, HD videos and games.

The intend for the smart player was the GPS enable and Navigation which I wish will help through my travel and connect with internet on hot spots. It has a better 3.2 MP Camera and camcorder with front VGA for video chatting and alert on email and message from time to time... there’s more to explore and use as mobile computer.

Kumki – almost melody

Mynaa fame Prabu Solomon’s forthcoming Tamil movie Kumki – a wild love story, is out in audio holding half a dozen songs that mesmerize through pleasant lyrics and unique render in music. Kumki is a name referred to trained Indian elephants that used for taming and training wild elephants and helps in driving away the wild elephants that stray into human settlements.

The movie produced by director Lingusamy has Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon as lead and the songs are composed by D.Imman and lyrics written by Yugabharathi. The movie was my personal anticipation towards the title and stills which hold similar remark to Mynaa which is one of my favorite films.  Here we go with the songs:

There are 10 songs in the album in which three are Karaoke... ‘Ayyayoo Aananthamae’, is a joyous song sung by Haricharan and the blissful lyric make it more fascinating and gives a feel of listening to Ilayarajas songs. The music of this song was just reverberates like a flow of stream and the humming of violin at the rear end was eternal.

‘Nee Yeppo Pulla’, is a song beings at high pitch in the volume of composer Alphons Joseph, is so humble and impressive through the feeling of lyrics and its one among the solo to hum.  'Onnum Puiyala', is a soothing melody stroke the heart with a unique string of guitar and the music director himself have sung the song, except the interruption of the high beats in-between it’s awesome!

‘Sol Sol’ is a wonderful folk song, sung by Magizhini Manimaaran who hail from the bird paradise Vedanthangal and the lines are simple and meaningful and even it gives a feel of Jingu Chikku of Mynaa, it comes under the rural melody. ‘Sollitaley Ava Kaadhala’, is a very beautiful song sung as a duet by Ranjith and Shreya Ghoshal, leaves listening again for surpass of love and magic in there vocal. The flute tack was just moving...

‘Yella Oorum’, is a jumbo track to cheer and it almost related to life of mahout and elephant. I’m sure it gonna rejuvenating and make rejoice everyone, in the tone of Benny Dayal and D.Imman. I’m much looking forward to the release of the movie and to watch all the songs in the video format. What special about the album was its almost melody!

Tribute to maestro

This week there was a delightful topic on my favorite talk show ‘Neeya Nana’ in Star Vijay, on the songs of late 80s esp. the composition on maestro Ilaiyaraaja was just blissful and it was a debate so healthy and cheerful. Everyone comes up with their favorite song of Ilayaraja and how it connected with their lives and being close to heart… it’s so wonderful to hear each ones story and ardent being an Ilayaraja fan.

I wonder how they come up with single most favorite of all time… which I couldn’t do so far even harder I tired yesterday recalling his songs, I couldn’t come up with a single song mindset, because his songs each one set a mood in itself. I need to confess his songs always been a reliable source of my solace and whenever I feel so lone or depressed his songs stimulates my sense to cherish and set away the motion into peace.

I have innumerable songs in my walkman and PC on Ilayaraja and during my days on work on publication I used to listen to his songs and it make things favorable to do so and except being unable I pushed to left the work and since then I kept enjoying his songs unlike ever. While I aware about music, AR. Rahman was there along with others but without my knowledge Ilayaraja’s songs has been my favorite and I still remember the first tape-recorded we brought and it played was ilaiyaraja’s song from Amaran and Mannan… both has super hit songs.

Ilayaraja’s songs were always heartwarming and close to heart feel and only he makes so real the nature and feel of rural into his songs.  When it comes to love he has a special place on young hearts and left to never grow old and falling in love happens each time listening to his songs, whether happy or feel so sorry his songs cherish and rapture.

180 – No rules

Watched this beautiful movie named Nootrenbadhu (180) last evening in drive-in with my uncle and cousin since parents doesn’t show interest on this movie, the theater was empty within fingers count of vehicles. The movie’s plot wasn’t unusual to Tamil cinema, which I don’t like to enter, but has a modern way of viewing with stunning visuals and enhanced love scenes.
Kickoff ashore of Varanasi, the visuals began to behold with some sophisticated slow motions is a techno- treat which continue to behold by various aspects till the end, captures happiness, fun and flirting amusingly that almost take place in the first half bears pieces and bits at rear. Holding the suspense till partially after the interval doesn’t emphasis unexpectedly but without touching deep in emotions the movie keeps moving in a hope unlike any other movies that end with regret.

The 180 – symbol of days, revolves around Siddharth, who break the rule in Boys stunts now there is no rule via reentering into Tamil cinema after his debut. He looks very smart and acts indeed well, expressing his emotions are good at phase except somewhere overrules and without a guess what his next move was. The movie has two cute heroines – Nithya menen and Priya Anand, gets our attention next to the visual enchanting and there each gesture expresses sweetness and every move has been captured lovely into the frame.

The director being an expert in Ad film making has made the movie without losing the prettiness on screen but at many places his ad sense arise away without logic which is similar to almost fairy tale advertisements. The concept behind the 180 days of rejuvenate is a good decent entertainment and enjoying the day today life is what many younger’s dream of today has well portrait even the reason has been different, and least flashback is the pulse of first half.

The sequence of songs has been captured in a remarkable way of appreciation and the no rules song is a great challenge to cinematography and composition of the song. The other one which is very sweet among them was Nee Koorinal… which is one of a best romantic songs so far has been captured very beautiful unlike ever. I just love this song for its adorable music and love expressiona… Niyayam Thana is too good! 180 – Behold everything beautifully but lacks to hold everyone’s attention.

Sony, the sound of music

The electric which goes off often these has gone immense without a limit and extends beyond the scheduled times has become a challenge for everybody and the worst thing was as it goes away at mid-day when heat waves fold away. People believed the new government will solve this problem as soon it take oath, but whoever forms the govt. could not do anything unless wind blows, rain stores the reservoirs or plants produce high electric.

Its sorrow to see people suffer from power outage and its wonder how some act like that only now it’s getting hot and experiencing a summer for the first time that heading out home or the a/c room will burn into ashes. I’m not against people getting comfort from a/c rooms and getting cool themselves from summer heat but speaking without sense struck me hard as if they are the only survivors in this universe and those works for sum under the scorching sun will do with no option to survive.

Ok. Come to the post, it’s a dream come true for me after days or years of waiting for a best sound system that could content my heart listening to music and watching movies. It’s more than a decade I went to an enclosed theater where sound quality would be best at experiencing a quite movie but being a regular visitor to a Drive-In theater was not that greater to say about sound except good viewing at our leisure.

I always believe Sony is the best for music and so brought a home theater with lot of expectation that could meet my LED TV and satisfy me in various forms in which getting a best sound system and easy to control which has never become balanced so far. The new DVD Home Theater (DAV-TZ210) was the least cheap and best product from the Sony connects almost all digital devices which response in high definition and controls all connectivity in one remote.

I’m overjoyed by the product and listening to my favorite music and songs sounds so good and best at tempo and clear bass discovers many hidden species so far appears nothing and I haven’t checked with movies yet the installation has not done, the system is waiting for the company guys to demo and arrange the speakers. I connected few speakers and woofer with the help of mum and wonder how would it sound if surround speakers installed at its position. Awe... I am so happy with it and enjoying one of my passions for music and cinema.

KO - my view

Being a cinematographer himself has taken the photo journalism as the plot for his movie KO; K.V. Anand had directed a superb movie where I could see similar thoughts and dreams take stage on screen. As a believer in young people could change anything, with their tireless, energetic and exuberant I could follow my dream until the climax where things change with intend to end the story. Many scenes reflect what is in my mind and the camera played an important role rolling parallel to the fast track screenplay and discloses the media’s interface in bringing change in society.
As a photo journalist, Jeeva had a wonderful opportunity to play an ever powerful role as a smart hero with an introduction by chasing a tempo traveler to shoot the photos of the bank robbers and further blocking their progress, was a fantastic action scene could easily challenge the Hollywood. I think there couldn’t be a perfect time to release the movie which revolves around the media and politics what played a revolution recently in the rule of TN. The media had been portrait well and its importance and risk involved in collecting news and producing the result give an idea how things happen.

Ajmal in a young leader character who want to bring change into politics resemble how someone would be in near future if youngsters enter politics and rule the govt. Not to forget the two sweet and cute heroines, Piaa and Karthika – the daughter of latter heroin Ratha, wasn’t just pretty, but exhibits really good expressions to be real in acting and cheerful in songs. The Piaa was as sweet as pie and best suited for a girlfriend character that anyone would like to have one alike her.

A movie from a cinematographer turn director doesn’t need a thing to say about how picturization would be, it was fantastic and outstanding. The song related sequence and actions are excellent and capturing exotic locations esp. the places around the cliff of Prekestolen of Norway for songs are fabulous and treat for eyes. To say about songs and music, it’s rare to come across a whole album which quite delights and to become all my favorites. To watch a decent political related feature and to experience the worth of delight in photography, KO is recommended.

The title slides resemble the flicker stream! I watched the movie yesterday at a night show in Drive-In.

Myna myna

If there could be a song I watched plenty of times lately would be the Mynaa Mynaa... from Tamil movie Mynaa, followed by a huge fan affair in early and latter year and of course top stars were praised to not able to be a part of the movie. The song captured wonderfully the awe... of a man who discovers a new phase of aspects in his girlfriend which cause a combat within his heart.

Amala Paul as heroine cause a naïve expressions that could melt any solid mind and of course I was someone seize by her visage. The song sequence, music, lyrics are all produce a fantastic extravagant and put on aviation throughout the song. It is one of the best of 2010 and continues to be so… Happy Valentine’s to everyone!

127 Hours

The time rolls on his wrist and any cost or effort couldn’t move the boulder to save him along the trapped wrist among the walls of Utah’s Canyon. The Jai Ho feel of enthusiasm leads the story of a real life mountain climbing hero Aron Ralston’s struggle with the incident and how he saves himself by cutting his wrist at last to survive was portrayed well by James Franco!
The dramatic screenplay disclose the hero as a fun loving and careless among the mountain climbing and how he treat the girls with an exciting slide into the hidden pool was amazing and cause a sense what gonna be next. As we expect there weren’t many adventures to follow and the way camera expose the canyon and man trapped with boulder looks awe… and the crossing jets across the blue sky were added fabulous.

The man not alone trapped he tapes the intense struggle and reload the collected videos taken with friends and girlfriend by recalling his childhood days with canyon and handy cam sustain the movie with sentiments despite realizing his ignore for not being informed. What’s entertaining was his funnier way of recoding his trap as a reporting news journal and the flashflood releasing him from the boulder which seems very true yet good dream.

Crashing his bones and cut through arm was something despite somehow disgust but it cause a great relief as if we had trapped with a boulder and James Franco’s expression to each part was obvious but quite not serious and thus it exuberates. The cousin who was giving me company wasn’t sure interested about the movie and just being called he sits beside me to watch.

One thing that tempting the movie was A.R.Rahman’s music and he again proves to be jubilant and somewhere in silence I were searing for his thrum and thus was his back ground score, but somewhere I felt the initial tunes of Raavanan’s Usure poguthe… which somewhat inspired him to recreate a album recently. It won’t wonder if the movie wins Academy because of its fabulous visuals and portraying a peculiar character despite moved by debut score… but somehow I enjoyed the team’s previous movie Slumdog Millionaire!

Margazhi - the month of winter

The winter is here to feel us warm and cold by decrease in temperature and somehow cool in nights, it’s a wonderful month called Margazhi in Tamil which is my favorite season’s among. Thinking about Margazhi (winter) causes much cold to sense and memories which retrospect as memorable and introspective to refurbish the mind and body to exist as obvious content. Cold morning is the always delight of this season and one could truly feel refreshing waking up one early morning or go a walk in the chill dawn and breath the fresh air emerge with cold nor warm inside the blanket which don’t want to wake asleep.
Margazhi - a month of drawing kolam.
Margazhi is a month that pleases among the Hindu dwellers to draw kolam or rangoli – which is drawn by white powder or flour and adorn in color powder to catch anyone’s attention. Though many residences including ours drew kolam in front of the gate way all over the year, point it to make it something special throughout the month and those can’t make it certain for everyday takes this opportunity to showcase their skill, interest and joy on drawing kolam. Sweeping the gate way along sprinkle water is a way of activity before going into action that deserves much attention and calculation among dots depict the traditional art cause by women. It was something interests me to watch how mom or aunt nor the neighbors make it so perfect and colorful to devote their culture and perspective.

Not to mention this was a season of breeding mosquitoes after the cease of rain and everywhere it would be wet due to morning dews and snow, drawing kolam is not an easy task among balancing the mosquitoes and cold weather. I am not a person to wake upon every dawn of this month and I take the opportunity on the last day of the month which is celebrated as Bhogi festival in South India – a light of bonfire which is believed as driving away the bad by burning waste things from home. In the childhood days I am more passionate on celebrating the bhogi and hitting drums which is made of clay and buffaloes skin, aind I never slept so easily the night and wait awaked to hear the drum beats to indicate the dawn and almost it would be my friends to do it and we all go together around the neighborhood and celebrate the dawn with much warmth and pleasure on lighting on.
Karagattam
The month of Margazhi is devoted to dance and music, which is a sensitive season among the artistes involved in the completions and organizers of the concerts. There are many theatres conduct programs, including the traditional Music academy and Sabas (concert halls) involve in constant programming throughout the month and institutions like Kalakshetra prepare students for these completions. I haven’t been to any of these festivals that exhibit the finest classical dance and music and create paths to so many artistries to showcase their skill and let aware others about the art and tradition that increase interest among people. Though I like the traditional classical dance and music I interested to go for classic folk festivals which is organized by the month end of Margazhi called Chennai Sangamam, is creating more vibrant and charm for the last couple of years of its launch with variety of fork performances taking place in parks and open grounds.

The month of Margazhi begins in mid of December and continue to the mid of January is believed as auspicious among Hindu women’s to visit temple every morning and many young women in our neighborhood would check the temples daily without fail to get something as present or gift towards the end of the month. I always like the mild sunshine that peeks through structures and grille reflecting heat and light into home and the dry skin tone to look for the brief sense of light.
foggy evening
The prime cold of the year witness last Sunday to even hideaway the lighthouse of marina to the foggy weather in evening and been drizzling however the city reduced the temperature certainly. The unusual sea with raising waves about to chase seafront easily reminds me about the firmly tsunami which is suppose to commemorate on coming Sunday, which held back on the same day some 6 years before. More than the thought of striking tsunami that always holds back in memories and the distracted mind that took time to settle firmly, it was the very pleasant weather similar to ooty kodaikanal – the hill stations of the state, which took back. Moreover the winter is here, to relax and enjoy the warmth of mild coldness and sunshine that enhance along the enchanting festival season.

The Robot Rocks

The Robot (Endhiran) is out in audio and it simply rocks more or less. First time listening I felt quite instrumental and sound of metal and its no wonder because music is by A. R. Rahman and to add sugar the movie is about robot, a mass made of metal. It wasn’t a great disappointment to me and I didn’t expect anything from the movie except it’s a Shanker movie. About the music ARR could have reduced the noise of instrument and avoid rap potion.

SPB, who is always fascinated to the introduction songs of Superstar, is here along with ARR and his daughter Khatija Rahman to call the New Man to earth. The song ‘Puthiya Manitha’ has given life to the robot!

Kathal Anukkal’ is soothing in the flow of Vijay Prakash and Shreya Ghosal! The song is energetic and charming to keep away the melody. Sure the picturesque would be very beautiful says the sample pictures in the lyric book.

Irumbile oru Irudhaiyam’ is so hot in Kash n’ krissy vocal and ARR has given good company in expressing a robot’s emotion and love. The song is rapid and the English verses have added attraction. I think the lyric book is given to understand the lines that goes immerse in music at many places.

Chitti Dace Showcase’ is head aching! A rap which has given way to strong instrumental esp. the drum beats.

Arima Arima’ has elevated the theme from the deep breath of Hariharan and Sadhana Sargam has done her brief part in sweet. The music has put a bravo walk in this robotic show.

‘Kilimanjaro’ is very interesting and Pa.vijay has played with lyrics, so playfully. The song has well rhymed in Javed Ali and Chinmayi voice and it sounds like a tribal song. It’s my favorite song in the album and seems like it was captured in a adorn manner. Aaha Aaha… and Heako ennikkoni… at the each stanza cause prettiness and add giggle to the song.

‘Boom Boom Robo-da’ has an excellent rhythm from the string and it sounds alike the Shivaji’s Athirade! The lyrics are well related to science and childish love and it was written by Vairamuthu’s son Karky. The female singers sound so hot and sweet to cause passion and romance.

Cute filcher

It was a Tamil song and pictures from the movie Kalavani and I did little change in lines that suites the mind. The tones are interesting while listen the song. The pretty girl oviya is someone caught my attention lately and her expressions are lovable. I haven’t seen her movie, but her stills are set to dream about and just waiting to admire on screen.

Hosanna!

I was listening to the songs of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa these days and when first time listening to this album I was little disappointed that lyrics can’t understood and felt like something strange. For me what attract first are the lyrics more than the music in a song and so thought I should have not brought this album instead downloading, but later listening for sometime the music and short-sweet words impressed me slowly.

Even thus there’s some disappointment over lyrics and the pictures shows it’s a soft and romancing movie, the songs aren’t handful to stimulate, except the amazing music perform by A.R.Rahman. Mannipaaya… is a caress to lost souls in sorrow and love; and the four couplets from Thirukkural is ingredient to sense and I realize the familiar in these lines later listening carfuls and those are the lines quite completes.

The other two songs that impressed me a lot are Anbil Avan and Hosanna. The both has something magic wander through music and few lines; and carries some spirit to stimulate sense and love, and in all Hosanna is the solitude I listen often solely.

Hosanna – an expression of praise, is simple expressive and thus its impressive. In this western style of music, I find something soothing while it goes on rhyming and English wording. Hosanna will always be praised for this soothing expression of peace and love. Hosanna, I love you so….

Here go few lines from the song, Hosanna :

Everybody wanna know what I feel like? I feel like
I really wanna be here with you...
Its not enough to say that we are made for each other
Its love that is hosanna true.
Hosanna... Be there when you’re calling out my name Hosanna!
Meaning of my whole life has changed!
I never wanna be the same... its time we re-arrange...
I take a step. You take a step...
me ah calling out to you
hello... hosanna

Hosanna!

About 7.O’Clock

One of an expected movie Peranmai is to release for this deepavali and I’m so much looking forward to watch this movie and before that the songs of the film has already impressed me. One of my favourite song from the movie is Earathaza Eazhumani… (About 7.O’Clock) and it was singed by the sweetest singer Sadhana Sargam and its so melody with beautiful lyrics to stole anyone. Here I go with the beautiful verses from the song and I hope u like it too... there is an English translation at below.

Translation in English

About 7.O’Clock you snatched my eyelids and left
I asked to return my eyelids
you returned my eyelids and snatched my eyes
I asked to return my eyes
you returned my eyes and snatched my heart
why can’t you be without snatching something
and why can’t I be without losing something

When love came, I tried to fly
thus a piece of sky doesn’t remain…
All sentences gather and scatter
thus no word remains…
Beauty when I get closer you
no desire remains…
Dear when I lay down in your thoughts
no dress remains…

whatever remains… is only the question.
I do love to die or die while doing love.

How many worlds inside men
is the answer I get after seeing you…
How many flowers inside women
is the answer I get when I was touched…

How many the throbbing stars
is the answer I get through waked nights
How many the droplets in rain
is the answer I get through deep awake

Unknowing answer… is only the question.

Slightly floating mind

This is a tamil song I fell in love recently from the time I began to listen. It was something like listing to a familiar country love song after sometime, similar it sounds like aiyaiyo… from movie paruthi veeran, but it strikes fresh. i tried to write the song’s early part of the lyrics – in Tamil as well English, thus it follows.
Movie: Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu
Singed by: Karthik & Chinmayi

Love dawning season
muteness understanding moment
eyes merging minute
limbs continue to dance

Slightly floating mind
something happening in age’s
slightly slipping anklet
where it fallen unknown

Like paddy in mouse web, your
memories gather into mine
like stone in water lilly pond, your
awaken strikes me around standstill
karichang(unknown) sparrow fainted
in dreams everyday floating
when love arrives, it leap
to wing dash the horizon.

Slightly floating mind
something happening in age’s
slightly slipping anklet
where it fallen unknown

Chennai Sangamam 2009

Karagattam

Before proceeding, just put on the current song at side bar, can give some feel. hehe…

The festival season is around, to indicate and by adding sugar, began this Chennai Sangamam – the traditional Tamil classic folk dance and music open festival. After successful two years of beginning, this festival ideal to develop the declining rural arts, the concept which was appreciated by everyone, that exhibits our own tradition and culture. The Chennai Sangamam 2009, which inaugurated on 10the January exists at many places around Chennai, stimulates the festival mood. In welcoming Pongal – the harvesting festival that falls on January 14th, this celebration gives a feel of nearly in traditional way. What this arts turn to be only temple festivals special in villages, which seen rarely in today’s world, this truly aware the need and significance of our unique arts. The idea comes out in supporting and raising the declining artists, and helps in discovering certain norms in public. Year by year I could think its popularity and we all began to look forward this festival around. In my view it has a bright future not alone being celebrated, and to make our existing arts to keep in active and some more in spreading to other districts, could certainly witness a growth.

Being in same city and knowing this festival, I could not make it a visit in past. But I had an interest and wish to watch those programs, which happens to be a distance vision. I get to know this time that one of the festivals open stage was setup near our familiar beach site in Palavakkam, which I happen to witness on Sunday. Well in advance took the cam in hope to see the festival sometime, it was rural beats welcomes at unexpected site to sight the festival near. I wonder to see a tall man, just walking around standing on high wood legs casually. Putting his long foot steps sounds like moving hooves… attracts. By the time we arrived, get to watch Karagattam and Poikkal Kudirai aattam, something unreal in memories so far; Kavadi aattam and Tamil folk songs singed by rural artist. It was a wonderful sense, shivering to glimpse those Tamil rural folk dance and music. We must praise those artists come across to remain our traditional style, to make us think why don’t we make it to core than sending them to verge, welcoming only western culture. It’s a pleasing feeling where no were in world has such rich and varies performing genre within a state. I think there are lots of art performances to get on stage till the festival concludes, and I hope to catch some more in coming days if possible. I know everyday there are different folk dances and music to take place, and along they conduct traditional food festival to taste the forgotten or strange. Just a day left for Pongal, there was lot of enthusiasm about the festivals, and the cymbal of Chennai Sangamam emits our sense along.

Karagattam Chennai Sangamam 09
Karagattam was familiarly known by most, as they take places first and more in festivals and cultural programs. Karagam is mean to decorated vessel. So as one have to perform dance movements, placing them on head without let to fall the vessel. It’s uneasy to see how stable the vessel on head, to only active the body more or less towards music. Have seen this kind of dance in movies alone, and the one ever get out of mind is famous Tamil movie Karagattakaran (karagam dancer). The current song is Mankuyile poongkuyile... from Karagattakaran, do check for the karagattam.

Poikkal Kudirai Aattam
Poikkal Kudirai Attam (Dummy horse dance) is a skill trained performance. It’s wonderful to see someone standing and balancing on two pieces of wooden legs, and caring a dummy horse on hip to move up and down to band music. Wearing colorful cloths hiding there legs, and wooden legs to hoof. It is unheard in the raised band music; called Naiyandi melam.

Kavadi Aattam, Chennai Sangamam 09
Kavadi attam is a devotional dance dedicated mostly to lord muruga. Unlike those carried on shoulders balanced by a stick and something curved like with fixed feathers on each end, what I see last evening was a stool like thing carried on head with a cone like decorated, as they roll, it revolves colorfully.

Dismissed suspense

There was something very beautiful I was expecting from time I begin listening to this lines from Vaaranam Aayiram, song Mundhinam Paartheanea. It goes like ‘Hi maalini! I am Krishnan. Naa itha sollia aahanum, nee avalavu azahu... inga evanum ivalavu azaha oru… … ivalavu azaha paathirukkamattanga. Am in love with you!’ (Hi Maalini. I am Krishnan. I have to tell this, you are such beautiful… here anyone such beautiful one…. such beautifully must not be seen. Am in love with you)

First time I got to see this scene in television today. Must acknowledge that I could not see its beautiful! Don’t know how about for others, I was disappointed with that scene, where I expect is something that I can’t explain how felt I was dreaming with that lovely dialogue. It’s not young and romantic, what I truly expecting was the scene must have the young Surya proposing to beautiful Sameera Reddy his love on her. But it was oppose, that father suriya who was in young then converse to the step down heroine Simran. I won’t tell simran is not beautiful, but it was unfeeling and the situation is untouched!

Simran’s first introduction was with Surya in Nearukku near and that was also sweet and likable. The movie also has beautiful songs and one of my favorite ‘manam virunbuthea’ is paired both and lovable. Tamil heroes don’t get such older soon, and look very young in makeup, but actress don’t stand long as heroines, and get down to character artist. No, that’s not the problem. It’s the feel that missing! Even an old pair can propose, but it must bring smile and pause watching. I got strange and odd feeling, how the sweet vocal of surya assume through audio is least a lot while watching! I could not wait visiting theater to watch this yet to be a enchant movie.

Music view on Abhiyum Naanum

The team with a lovely language (Mozhi) is back with more beautiful Abhiyum Naanum. The audio released weeks back was excel in kind, packed in little drawing note; in times last, its refreshing album in Vairamuthu’s gem lyrics and Vidhyasagar’ s soothing music; feeling the more significant of natures taught. Alike mozhi, they have given importance to meaningful lyrics, the way of music composed to the understanding of what’s listening is undisturbed melody and not less than the voices catches rhyme, unless it doesn’t feel the sense. Every song is suitable for complete pleasure, as it not alone concern the film and characters, but also gives listeners some message.

What does we miss to listen the album tells is the nature including human relationship; the cry of souls, a child’s innocent behaviors and to wonder at unanswered quest. Touching everything as ideal, this album comes out very well to a mood of replaying frequently. I share something on songs and my favorite lines follow:

Ore oru oorile... as it begins like a children story ‘oru orula oru raja (in one village a king)’, it demonstrates the plot of this feature film. It was singed by Kailash Kher, whose voice reflects in ears even after stop listing and indicates the possible intensity.

Vaa vaa en dhevadaye... it sounds very familiar to some past presentation. It has composed very gently to Madhu Balakrishnana’s happening voice to give the sweetest wordings its favorable feel. Every fathers wish about girl child would inspire these poetic lyrics and it not only interacts with father-daughter, as well every common person to express about a child.

Like my wealthiest daughter’s cry -
haven’t listened one chillness music

Like my golden daughter’s smile -
the aged flowers couldn’t known to smile

Like pearls scattering lisp -
a three hundred languages doesn’t have words.

Pachai kaatre vesu... my favorite song in the album, singed by the most lovingly Sadhana Sargam. The first wording itself proving it’s a song about nature and truly to accept the fact chillness at ends of lines. Well between about the Hindustani and Bhangra are more energetic and less exciting to disturb the pleasure or to think it sounds me alone. The first and second foot was real interesting and meaningful, thus communicating.

In the direct river, there is nothing beautiful
in the curved river is more beautiful
life is so like the curve river
in the turning alone tastes more!

Moongil vittu sendra pinea... wow. what does it express is unseen, but the answer it gives is live and sees. Something I murmuring often is this song, the impression the lyrics left is extending even after listening. The music at very soft and vocal presently gives the restful within.

After leaving the bamboo -
what is relation the song with bamboo?

Magic like dispersion in human lives -
what are the messages relations said to leave?

Azhagiya azhagiya kili ondrai... is a song annoying the menacing apart! The music is hard core and gives an extreme feel to slow down the noise of rise and down in string mood. In my view Vairamuthu is the main subject relating the story into the lyrics, here is the pain he expressed in relationship distance. SPB renders a high sharp tone to an emotional feeling!

Chinamma Kalyaanam... very simple tells there is nothing splendid than a life to present. A solo one by Kailash kher, and is indeed a mere soft composition background. And finally there is a Panjabi instrumental delivery, that nothing does it the melody others.

Pretty Piaa

From the first time watching i was attending this song every time it flashes. Truly felt like something exists from my dream, the very cute girl Piaa in her beautiful expressions. The song deals with a girl enjoying her boyfriend’s presence, the smiling and facial emotion to adorable. The song from ‘poi solla porom’, is utmost my favorite right now. I try to translate the song which is below.

Without speaking a word
without seeing a sight
your silence does something
without blowing storm wind
without an earthquake
my heart is sliding on you.

If I ask to stop stop
my heart never gets
if I tell to speak speak
my lips resist to speak
even thus it gives suffer I like

Hai oh hai oh hai oh for me love closed in
pai ya pai ya pai ya insane seized me

You go go go my night to tell him
that there isn’t sleep for long time
You go go go my night to tell him
that there isn’t sleep for long time

When eyelid both to close, I think of you
will give my heart ally book, you come read if you
If you went saying noting
don’t you know my love?
The speaking language of eyes
can’t you understand my dear?
Hai oh hai oh hai oh for me love closed in
pai ya pai ya pai ya insane seized me

Without speaking a word
without seeing a sight
your silence does something…..
