Vettri Vel (Victory spear)

Its better I conform it was not a Vijay film! Punch dialogue is punching much at the beginning scene of Vel (spear). Usual double role subject, but new to surya after the average success of SOK. The story narrated from a train journey where a parents lost one of there twins and both grown in a different places. Younger one working as a detective office, living with parents and elder one as brave hero in a big family at a village near Dindukkal. Without any confusion the screenplay played well showing the two environments in very neat manner, where saranya the mother of twins always with tears and thinking about his very lose son gives a usual distress felt when will skip to another scene. Even there was no bright romance, Asin comes beautiful, charming in that stylish glass with a cleanly washed face helps to know about elder surya to younger. Where the highlights of the chasing comes when the villain’s group attempt to kill younger one who looks alike elder Vel and the bus busting and rising up to meters high and crashing on the ground is unneeded but amazing, where in next time it wont wonder even if they rise the train or flight to meters high.

Naasar comes littler when adopting his found son vel and to introduce the opponent Kalabavan mani in flashback, where the enmity continues till vel generation. The race between the villain and hero comes forward; back on exchanging loses, when only after vasu (younger Surya) enters, it pickups in a different interesting intelligently move that was in impersonation of elder as younger. Kalabavan mani tries to kept a separate place for his humorist villain. How does the both solves the problem of mani and the sentiment between the lost and found family of elder son vel was said in family affection and very fast last with action is what takes the film without boring and it was the pulse of director Hari. After convinced that the story tells don’t sharpen the sword, sharp your brain then why the director gave a violent in climax with villain disputes.

I expect always an interesting and positive movie from hari, but if he reduces the more weapons and violence it suits for a whole family drama. About comedy, where our southern storm vadivelu binds with his attractive and simplify, but his usual stupid way of losing things is like painting with empty brush. Elder surya shows his last six (Aaru) face in single frame and younger one have to be balance of smart SOK look. Songs are rural touch, Kovakkara Kiliye… is most beautiful in all, the backdrop and countryside’s are fresh green and blue are soothing to vision. Aayiram Jannal Vedu …gives an idyllic feel; it shows the happiness of a joint-family. In the intro a thought, it would be attracting between people if this was a release for pongal. Yuvan’s music at background creates flurry at action sequences, but i felt as he have used his old tunes in songs, where from his last village based movies. Surya had tries to copy his bro karthi’s renown in this film, but some how that scene got whistle from audience. The cinematography is better in quality, the cameraman V.T Vijayan gives a force in action and slower in sentiments, in Tamil industry he is one with not grand, but best.

I hear vel is a well doing film in diwali releases. After Arul the old movie of hair, it happens that I have been continuously watching his films in theater. This time it was the rain disturbed for few minutes and the sea breeze lift ups the mood except watching film at drive-in.

Cartoons and kids

Today with easy available of cartoon channels kids has good time pass from studying stress and in between going to school, but every kids are only watch cartoons is what not, because of spreading cinema and it related programs they caught by attention. I was to read some views on metro plus about cartoons and kids. Everyone had some positive things to tell like cartoon develop kids knowledge on history, culture, mythology… and makes them learn more and remember what they learnt, there vocabulary improves and a lot and also negative things like violent cartoon scenes changes their mind and behavior and general things like affecting the vision. There are many good cartoons that liked without age difference for example Tom and Jerry, Donald duck, Popeye but these happen to be older and rare to watch them these days.

Cartoons do a quite works for home kids, where parents get relief for sometime in care taking them. Today cartoon channels have been present in all languages, and it also solves the language problem to kids. My uncle’s one year kid in one in this category, where he loves to watch cartoons and his favorite is Bumba on Chutti Tv. He just lies down in his bed and starts to laugh and enjoy watching. When making to know what was there in this program to interest him, it has become one of my favorite shows now. Another thing that makes interest me to watching cartoon channel is the information that explains the history, scientific experience and life time of scientist and different cultures in understand method. When I try to convince my cousins to know some specific programs on cartoon channels, they replay me these are bore and need some movie, songs.

Those days the only cartoon interest us was the Moogly, it would be telecasted on Sunday morning in Doordharshan and another one was super Heman Samurai on every Thursday evening. When leaving to 6th we brought the cable channels and it has 24 hours of Cartoon channel and later after leaving school me and bro have to spend some times on watching and never understand what they talk and just find the story as it moves, but today there was no language problem and with good English, kids pickup easily. Except the cartoon, there are some other children’s channel like Pogo and Jetix. The Jetix have the more violence action programs and also little glam I feel. Where the actions were taken by children into practice with their mates, I visible them directly through by cousins when they use that actions in between the kindle fights with others. The elders have to aware them what is good to take and what to leave; I realize there is many to learn from cartoon channels and cute things to admire.

Cross marriage

Our people always have come with reason to tell for their superstition. In rural village sides they call donkey marriage, when they organize a wedding between a male and female donkey, where they hope it will bring rain, after that it was frog wedding and every village has their own way for superstition, according to some tradition. Here the reason is different in Selakumar and Selvi’s marriage, actually it’s a kalappu tirumanan (mixed marrage).

Selvakumar, a 34 year old farmer from Tamil Nadu’s Sivagangai district have been stoned to dead two dogs in his rice field and hang them on a tree some 15 years ago and felt unfortunate. He was clueless when he later disabled from hearing, speaking and walking, but where he find an astrologer he told him he was cursed by the spirits of the dogs he had killed and to curse only if he marry a dog and live with it. Then, after a long search he found his pair selvi a four-year-old mongrel bitch and the wedding took place at a Hindu temple. Where Selvi was dressed in sari and flowers and brought to temple and the proceeding where held with a priest before cheering crowds.

The poor selvi was however attempted to escape from them, but was eventually traced down and returned to her new husband. But safely this dog is only for lifting the curse and after that he plans to get a real bride. BBC News
