Happy New Year

The year has come to an end and whatever happens in a decade seems like happen lately and wonders whenever think about the past years. It feels like we have just foot stepped in 21st century but 9 years have already pasted. This year was little tough for me and most of all it was my mind that get disturbed by my health deficiency, and best of all is traveling, meeting new friends and writing, which I think have improved and more highly is friends support in blogging.

I have thought to do many things this year, but time has passed now and only a day has left to year 2010. I know past is past and tomorrow is hope which leads our life to so many times. Let’s hope everything would be fine in year 2010!

There are 365 days in a year, but there’s no other day like January 1 we welcome so enthusiastically. Days are infinite and this day 1 is also like the other, but we give more importance to this day and it’s something refreshes our mind and shows new hope to life certainly. On this day we realize the increase of our age and it’s the only day in the world where everyone celebrates.

Moreover people from various culture, practice celebrates this day on there own tradition, but there’s no less of celebration. There’s hope whatever begins on this day continues throughout the year and let us hope and wish good things continues in our lives too. Happy New Year :)

World Television Day

In a split second, pressing a button will transport us to a whole new milieu, time and a world; and another press of the button will bring us back right to our living rooms. This miraculous transporter is, of course, the television.

Today each and every home own a television and knowing more about the importance of information and entertainment the government has come forward to distribute free television sets and about what they give in means of politics or tricks, it helps people who are suppose to explore the world from there homes.
Tamil Nadu Govt.'s Color TV
This is a free television set given by the Tamil Nadu Government
From the back and white to the late LCD and led, television enclose us into a world of entertainment and almost everyone watches television and learn something new everyday and keep in touch with current affairs about the world. The extension of televisions to rural and remote area excess there lives to new and modern civilization.

But where we’re heading isn’t healthy, because television excesses our duties many times and attracts our kids to face setback in health and education, and families to suffer with serials and youngsters to go crazy about cricket. There are some terms to enjoy television so that our lives can be set top box or DTH to exist clearly.

There’re times where only DD exists and watching the Friday movie on night is one nightmare we can’t forget watching in-between plenty ads. And super he-man samurai is one program I watch intend and almost never miss the jungle book on Sundays. Still I’m enjoying some programs in DD esp. news are quite impartial compare to satellite channels.

The UN General Assembly declared November 21st as World Television Day, to recognize the role played by television in decision making by drawing attention to threats to peace and security and social and economic issues. The first World Television Forum was held on November 21 and 22 in 1996 and UN invited all the member of states to mark the day by ‘encouraging global exchanges of television programs and focusing among other issues like peace, security, economic and social development and the enhancement of cultural exchange. Here we go on some facts about Television

The BBC began regular telecasts in 1930.
The first practical use of television was in Germany.

The first colour television was approved in 1950.

In 1956, Robert Adler invented the first practical remote control.

Eclipse mania

Today was total solar eclipse and we all know it’s a general occurrence by nature, even yearly we have eclipse this time it was a rare event that last the longest of 21st century. This doesn’t make me awe and as usual we expected the sight was blocked by clouds, and what really made it special was the total eclipse almost across India. But what I like to say about was belief. In whatever manner the scientific knowledge and understanding grows, but still people believe that moon hide the sun on eclipse and reflect its shadow on earth is devil caught up with evil. Eclipse might be believed or described as bad omen in earlier times when science wasn’t understood, but even after many years of man landed on moon and well aware about universe, few people still believe in things that has no meaning and existence.

I just wonder in disbelief at one of my cousin’s act upon eclipse and what she did in name of belief. She ate a day before eclipse, by 6pm in evening and went on fast till midday. I have heard people saying in past that eating anything at the period of eclipse won’t digest, but what she did is simply foolish and being educated. I know education and belief are something distinct and I like to see sense and knowledge on both. Then, there go the astrologists making certain promise that something gonna happen to earth on the time of eclipse occur and possibility of earthquake or tsunami. But I’m not sure those astrologists truly know what tsunami means before the December 26th incident? We know the earth stability is because of some gravity force from sun and when moon come across, a question could rise on the changes of substance, but obviously there haven’t been any incident happen so far on eclipses.

There’re times people have been saying and following the tradition of taking bath after eclipse are over. As a child I have also conveyed the same by my parents and those days we never ask why and just follow what parents say. I have heard mom saying that people also wash there homes and drop whatever is left to feed and cook newly dish after eclipse, and we were never allowed to go out in times of eclipse. I feel it’s simply offensive to follow these and I see in disbelief people used to practice it deliberately. Don’t we realize to change ourselves with what we got in knowledge? And if we don’t want to turn the illusion, then why do we need to learn new things to develop our sense and knowledge? And the important thing of learning is to drive folly.

Wee cup pup

Like a tiny doll in white fluff, just 3.2 inches tall, the Maltese pup reached just more than a height of teacup is among the world’s smallest sleeve dogs. Scooter, the six month-old pup, is also weights less than a block of butter at 400gm that too while wearing clothes – a regular purple sock jersey, so that she is seen easily around the home and to prevent inevitable injury that would result at a wrong step. The owner of Scooter 'Cheryl McKnight of New Zealand’ says the pup feeds from an egg three times a day and sleeps in a shoebox, does everything a normal dog does.

Another tiny pup vying for the status of being smallest in world is Tom Thumb. Even he is younger than Scooter, his owners convince he’ll still be shorter than the current record of smallest dogs by length when he’s an adult. At three weeks old, Tom Thumb measured less than 4 inches from nose tip to tail tip; and is believed to grow more than an inch or two. Beyond anything astonish, these diminutive dogs are absolutely cute and I know u too will agree.

The tiny scooter reminds me of maya, while she was alike when she was small with those pretty eyes and nose.

Pleased Obama

After the serial time is over at home by 10pm, I turn around channels usually until settle down to sleep. Last night alike I come across sun news to know live from Washington dc on Obama’s presidential inauguration, so I turn to CNN’s live for detail view. It was such amazing ceremony I have seen ever, people with hope and spirit, welcoming a new dawn calling Obama... across the massive crowds standing for miles. With more patience, the simple Obama disclose to the cheering crowd, without any excitement visage creating a history, but much said his hopeful speech after taking oath as 44th US president. Every time he says us, it would inspire people to work towards the achievement in challenge. Of course I could not understand the whole speech of Obama, unlike others. His memory ability wonders through the speech. Thanks CNN for collecting the important pieces under screen.

I just thought how fine those gentlemen are in maintaining the political gesture. The republican too come across the defeat and support the new govern by wishing. I really felt ones listening to presidential hopeful of republic McCain’ speech, that our Indian leaders have to learn from him how to congratulate the winner and acknowledge the true victory and not blame the others for losing and express distress that people chose a wrong person or govern to rule. Something I loved from American politics! Between the violins music by John Williams ‘Simple Gifts’ the inauguration pleasing.

Gold from Bird’s Nest

Its Glories moment of morning for India to won its first ever individual gold medal at Olympics, by World Champion Abhinav Bindra winning at 10m air rifle shooting event. Now India shines with gold in the globe, creating history by its own country. It’s a very great horror as citizen of India to Congrats him and let it be a beginning for India to won more medals.

It’s the bird’s nest I have ever watched the entire opening ceremony of the Olympics. There is no less in the expectation the progress given by Chinese for us the excitement. As the count down beings with their traditional drum beats the whole attention went on how the sparkle going to spring for the eyes of world. The Chinese showcased their rich art and talent in there colorful programs that in amusing way. It’s their real show that could not imagine those are not graphic animations. Whatever the technology grows, something creative by mind and performed by people always remain special, I see this in that way. I was put in adore at each performance and wonder at the magic like on television, without magicians, mean more than their face, hides behind stand in unity for there pride to make perfect.

The dancer above the sheet carried by seemed like a pretty young chick inside the nest trying to swing it wings, and the light coated dancers and the moving animation like performed in figures was excellent. It was unexpected when our Indian team will enter nest, and it’s atypical to entire order from any other to arrangement of Chinese scripting. Winning or losing is not the matter, but being the second much populated country in world, it’s miserable to see only few Indian sports men/women partake in the event and parade, comparing to small countries with many sportsmen. We aren’t possess at any, the point is why can’t we pull more soldiers into this healthy war where world unites to show their physical talent and strength to capture medals and pride.

It was something surprise at ending of the opening ceremony is to praise the torch. The secret behind the highlight of the show, after the complete round eyes opened wide to spot of lighting torch. The ingenuity led by them raises here at top of the bird’s nest. Happy Olympics, let sent peace everywhere and positive spirit across.

Worth message

I am to share a video that was shared by Resonator in her blog. Just a great message from a school girl, the speech that makes the people of world United Nations to put in wonder listening to the address of Seven Suzuki. The video is originally belong to 1992 when Suzuki was 12 speaking to delegates meeting, things related to Environmental issues in Rio Earth Summit and to raise money for expanding her Environmental Children’s Organization, a small group of children committed to learning and teaching other kids about environmental issues. I felt this is one of a worth speech to make aware on world environment. Listen here:

Good to Feel Half Clean

With his paws spread wide and taking a step up on to a cup of tea, this little piggy tries desperately hard to make himself big and strong. But there's nothing getting away from the fact that he is still no bigger than a tea cup.

Fun mugs with animal noses on the base. It seems like a normal white mug until you use it.

Children attend class at the Dongzhong (literally meaning "in cave") primary school at a Miao village in Ziyun county, southwest China's Guizhou province. The school is built in a huge, aircraft hangar-sized natural cave, carved out of a mountain over thousands of years by wind, water and seismic shifts. more here

Typically the shark is going so fast that it shoots out the sea as it bites the seal mid-body with its 3,000 razor-sharp teeth. Attacks rarely happen when the seal is underwater as it is too agile. But on the surface it has only one way to go down exactly where the shark is coming from.
