RGB Monday
Vibrant
in colors
#RGB Monday stand's for my self made meme on Red Green Blue colors.
A
house painted in different shades of colors including red, green and blue, and
the picture was shot somewhere between Periyapalayam and Uthukottai, a border
town between Tamil Nadu and Andhra. That was the first time I travelled on this
stretch and I was on the road to Nagalapuram. From the look, colors and designs
on the face of the house make think the people living there should be more devotional…
because I have seen houses in villages with similar façade (but not this much colourful)
are religious minded.

Dazzling
fruits and vegetables stall at Kodaikanal
The
roadside stall sells lot of fruits and vegetables harvested from around the
mountains of Kodaikanal. For the new visitors: Kodaikanal is a popular hill
station in south India (more than MSL 2000 high) and one of the most visited
mountains by me. And during a visit to same in the monsoon of 2016, I captured these
photos while we stopped for purchasing fruits and homemade chocolates. The
rains halt for some time then and it was about 7pm I took these photos from
mobile and I was really amazed at the outcome of the photos splashed in
different shades and colors, since the fruits exposed to the led bulbs.
And
moreover the mist, gloominess and wetness of rain give a refreshing feel as I
look into the dazzling fruits and vegetables from our parked car. I know very
few of the names of the fruits sold at the shop like plums (called as ooty
apple), pears and passion, and along with fruits they also sell mountain honey,
homemade chocolates and eucalyptus oils. But more than fruits, vegetables like
carrot, cabbage, potatoes and mountain garlic are cultivated around the
mountains villages of Kodaikanal.

A colourful restaurant and café on
Ooty-Coonoor main road!
Panda atrium is an open hall type
restaurant with a view overlooking the pretty Ketti valley. Though I haven’t
visited the café, I find it colourful to shot from moving car and the
restaurant seems to treat different taste buds and from their menu (in online)
I find they are more specific on Vietnam and Chinese food. Wish I could visit
this café if I was to Ooty again and the pictures shot last year in April.

Man selling colourful
little toys for kids in front of Sims Park, Coonoor. I guess what he’s having
in had is bubble toy that used for blowing bubbles.
I have been to Coonoor
twice but unable to visit the Sims Park which has unique species of trees and plants
that many native to this mountains aka Nilgiris. The park is created on a natural slope
of mountain; with many steps leading down the park make it an inaccessible landscape for a wheelchair bound. But it’s a nice place for nature loving people alike.

Colorful Street Shopping
I didn’t shop
anything there and this is a scene outside the Bryant Park in Kodaikanal and these
shops sell mostly t-shits, sweaters, handbags and hats. The road along the Kodaikanal lake has many shops alike selling colorful things to attract tourist.
Have a nice week ahead

One of the neighbour’s colourful Kolam
drawn for the Pongal festival. I really liked the way they created a Pongal pot
boiling over the firewood stove aside their colorful Kolam and I took this
shot in evening while coming around our street and the Kolam should
have perhaps drawn in the morning to look little distorted.

Pongal Kolams for RGB Monday
Here is mom’s
Pongal Kolams that she drew for the Pongal festival. As I told in my previous
post mom took enough diligence to make all the 4 kolams, two at night and another
two in morning along our courtyard and gateway. I know I was pretty slow with
blogging these days but hope to be active in coming days and for RGB Monday, I think this post had more than enough colors to keep away the Monday blue, but I know Monday is
gonna end in less than an hour. lol

Dustbins
During
a visit to Elliot’s Beach in neighbourhood I saw these dustbins in color of
red, green and blue and instantly captured it with the intention of sharing at
RGB Monday. The dustbins are installed
to segregation of waste, where red belong to garbage and blue to recycling and
green for organic waste.

Splash of colors
It seems sometime i did RGB monday post, and when i think what to post today, the led blinks. The photo was captured on the
national highway 45, while coming from Trichy towards Chennai and I liked the
design or stickering of colourful water splash on the boot of the bus. I cropped
the picture just to highlight the splash of colors and the bus belong to
Pondicherry seems to drive towards the state.

Colourful balls (comprising red, green n blue) and other goods hanging
outside a shop at a little town called Kavindapadi near Gobichettipalayam. During
our travel to Nilgiris, we stopped there to buy sweets and snacks to my dad’s
friend house near the town. I got to shoot few more interesting scenes there
which I would share later.

Here’s RGB Monday to keep away your Monday Blues and make feel colourful and yet cheerful! And this Link-in feature invites your colourful photos with the content of RGB – Red, Green, and Blue.
A small shrine of Ganesh attached to a house in our street on
the intersection. People believe that having a Ganesh shrine or idol on an
intersection keeps away misfortune. I find this shrine colourful to fit my RGB Monday
series and thus the post.

Bottles and lids of soft drinks
Bottles and lids of soft drinks
The image has been cropped from the
picture of a provision shop; I shot at Thiruporur on the outskirt of Chennai.
p.s. It seems the merchants of Tamil
Nadu have decided to stop sell foreign soft drinks like Pepsi, Coke, Sprite, and
Miranda… from the March 1st. The decision was taken by the traders
association of Tamil Nadu following the pro-jallikattu protest and as a move
towards boycotting foreign products. Not only that they keep front the decision
to prevent foreign products but argues that soft drinks are unhealthy to
consume. Though I agree with the second one that soft drinks aren’t healthy and
suggestible to drink, but if they decided to avert the overseas products it
should apply to all and not alone on soft drinks which is least per cent. And I
really want to ask those protests against foreign products and if they are sure
about the decision will they prevent the millions of people working in MNC’s
and give up the economic development support by this industry. I see there’s
both good and bad in any kind of things and many foreign productions has become
lifesavers for many and in the globalised world we can’t quit things completely
unless they aren’t good for health or country and enter the policies/rights of
nation. How
many iPhone fans in India? Is iPhone or apple is Indian origin? Soft drinks are
unhealthy and it should be boycott only on this basis. There is an unclear politics
behind these and I can’t go inside it without a moderate picture.

Pretty colorful Merry go around at Elliot's Beach, Chennai
p.s. Beaches
are my favourite pastime perhaps since we live close to sea and Elliot’s beach
has many memories to share, and in our earlier days we visit the beach to enjoy
the playground equipment’s like siding, seesaw, swings… installed at the beach
sand. Elliot’s hasn’t been crowded then and only a part of beach was used much
then, and the manually operated equipment’s like merry go around, ferry wheels
aren’t available and also any kind of shops exists except the popular eatery Cozee,
which is opp. to police booth. My late uncle is a friend of the owner, who’s a Singh
(and he has also acted as Rajini’s friend in Basha) and he would take us there
and get ice creams from the shop. Every time I pass the Cozee, the moment spent
with my uncle at one of the tables there blink at my mind for few seconds.
