மலரே / A Flower

Yellow Cosmos
Pic by Jeevan (Yellow Cosmos)

ஆயிரம் மலர்கள் பூப்பதுண்டு
ஆனால்  உன்னைப்போல் ஒன்னும் இல்லை
புரிகிறது நீ சொல்வது
காதில் பூ சுத்தாதே  என்று!

For non-Tamil bloggers a translation is below:

Thousand flowers used to bloom
but nothing was like you;
I understand what you are saying
that to not lie around the ears!

The heaven comes down

Spring in summer
Picture by Jeevan - on Gulmohar
The drifting clouds
The songs of Koel
The blossom of Gulmohar
The droplets on leaves
The showering phases
Impresses me to core;

The twitter of birds
The arrival of insects
The moisture earth
The event of light thunder
The constant weather
Continues to please me ever;

The monsoon of west
Sent its blessing
The emotional heat
Makes up the earth cooling
The days gloom and bloom
Took bestow.

Blue Dawn

Blue Dawn
The blue dawn

Purple at noon

Pink in the evening,

A day life

With different phases

Of shades and coloring,

The dawn breaks

After cold dewdrops rain

A relief from clumsy

How glorious

The morning glory

In ocean blue color

Delights till sun hides

At the end of the day

Fades away in magenta.

Family vacation @ Familiar location

Kodaikanal has been my favorite place since I began visiting and falling in love with this so called princess of hills and u might be checking blog posts on it lately and early here and I was there again last week-end with my dear once for a family vacation. We went as families of four in two cars and it was completely fun and enthusiastic unlike ever cheerful, remarkable and memorable trip.
My families
Along with our families who are close to my heart
We booked at the CSI Retreat Center Homes which is close to the Kodaikanal Lake with lake view is a treat in itself. There is couple of individual homes and suites and dormitory available to the budget and according to the number of people and we took the Yorke House dormitory on the top of the center and thus felt more individual and enjoyed the isolation provided by the undisturbed environment and away from people.

We were quite oneness and worriless being there and together provide a platform for sharing and understanding the phase of life and it was after six year we all were together on a holiday vacation that too to the same place of Kodaikanal. We always travel or go as a vacation by 6 or 7 people what our SUV can accommodate and it was very long time wish to enjoy the holiday as a group of people very close to us either.
CSI Retreat Center home
CSI Retreat House, Kodaikanal
This time we explored a not well known and road less travelled destination on the northwest of Palani Hills and it was completely heaven site with pristine environment and freshwater lake and beside the terrace farming sleeps a pretty village alike Poombarai. Not to forget the leeches that are plenty ready to suck blood with no sense and the source provide there was bliss and solace to heart and the lake view through the winding road is an unwind sight.

Almost the vacation went off through passing mist, cold and rain and every time visiting there a change wait at phase and some places remains same and what worst was the traffic that lines the winding roads. Except staying atop the hills, the traveling was worst indeed through the heavy sunshine and only for this trip we woke up as early as 3am to avoid traveling under hot sun.

Down to Earth

Down to earth
Still fresh down to earth
because of the blown wind or
someone plucked to drop here.

Footnote:

It seems the cold likes me so much to caught often. This time something unbearable but still doing better with intense cough and blocked nose. Today is my parent’s 28th wedding anniversary and I dedicate this post to them and this photo was taken at Kotagiri and I went with a haiku poem on it, for a Friday flower post.

Essence of entice

Honey bee
Honey, the collection of bees
perhaps the sweetest essence
collected from pollen grains

Flowers, the essence of entice
led bees lure the best inside
to feedback us with grand savour

The beauties of beehives
seems to be behind the entice
to ensure essence lost nowhere

Footnote:
The flower with bee was captured at Lalbagh Garden in Bangalore last May and the flower is an orange Cosmos. I also like to post at least a flower every week as a Friday Flower series on my many photo collections on flowers. I wonder who won’t love flowers and they are the species admired and adored by everyone and the essence of nature is easily expose through them and a kind to enhance a lot with beauty!

Leaving to Garden City

The garden city is the nickname of Bangalore which has many gardens to derive its names from. I have come across Bangalore couple of time but only now got a chance to stay over and discover the places those are familiar with names of garden.

One of our friends, who come to know and become familiar via blog, had invited us to her home in Bangalore. The plan has been on consider for very long time and only get approved by us now, so leaving to Bangalore tomorrow with a list of places to visit and take rest in the presence of much better and very pleasant weather unlike Chennai, and moreover it’s the warmth and care wanted us to stay at her place.

Here I come up with few pictures captured from the Botanical Garden in Ooty, from our latter visit.
Fern House
The Fern House (above pic) in the Ooty Botanical Garden is home to many ferns and orchids. Established in 1894, this house is dedicated to W.C. Mc. Ivor, in whose response the Garden has been developed to this stage from the then a patch of vegetable garden and wilderness of Shola and shrubs and the lower part as a swamp traversed by deep ravines.

Flowers show in Ooty Botanical Garden
Display of flowers : Ooty, famous for its annual flower show had begun recently in the botanical garden, with varieties of roses and flowering plants at display, and creation of sculptures using colorful flowers. Keeping in mind of India won the World Cup in cricket, a floral replica had been created which expected to attract more visitors this year.

Friends

While just relaxing in the courtyard of our apartment complex in the evening and listening to the birds that chirp to fly across the sky fabulously and refreshing in the presence of mild wind and check through the flower pots thoughts peek like a bird from the nest box. I was just thinking about friends and a quest rose ‘like a pretty rose bloomed in the pot’ that what it has been or mean… sudden a phrase read from school days come to mind which is ‘A Friend in need is a Friend in-deed’.
Rose
I wonder how many friends are there in this world comes to do some deed when we’re in need and I am not here to blame or mention anybody and I am not in a mind or situation to expect someone to help me… and if nesecerry I would certainly ask any of you on a need. So be ready! Ha ha… But I could understand that everyone could not attended always everybody on their need and situation play a vital role to do so and even a situation comes on favor there are something need to be cleared before expecting from someone.

A true friend would come even before we ask for something by understanding our need and a friend who run away in scare of helping or even say a single word as sympathy could not even consider be a man. A friend is not the one comes under the category of only helping in need but a man’s world extend beyond his family is next by friends. Once I left the school, no one come in search of me so far as friends and even those found on Facebook could not respond me even as trash and I had never friends after that unless I open my blog to discover a new phase of world waiting for me to lean friendship.

At initial days I got a lot of friends through blogs and I was in extreme happiness and pleasure to get so many friends without being having one. As we all sail through blogging many friends redirected their path and cease partially on way inevitable to unreasonable conclusions and we can’t say anything about them since us unaware about their situation, sill some friends stay back beyond their blog blocking attitude to keep in touch with me through mails and phone calls and seldom home visit.

Today I have friends to be less or more to support me and cause to be reliable virtually and really depending upon facts and personal knowledge and liberal. There are friends still omnipresent from beginning and continuing to be so hopefully sharing so many things day to day and it’s an immense pleasure I could not describe in words means so much to me. I couldn’t point who and who they are and a true friend could understand by themselves! Thanks everyone who supports me here and encouraging my thoughts even they are debris to recycle and correct me directly or indirectly to sail ashore safely or put on right path beside.

Love in flower

Love
Love is a beautiful flower
like a peace tower
Love is a delighted flower
like life under shower
Love is an enchanting flower
like we receive power
Love is a blooming flower
like we’re for each other

Love has symbol as flower
like heart hung for lover
Love is a kind flower
like a kiss from her
Love is a warm bonfire
like the weather we bond each other
Love is a whispering rose bud
like lovers utter in silence

Love is an essence in flower
like heart plays a concern
Love is a season to flower
like blossom between lovers

p.s. it’s been a while I blogged regularly and there’re few things I could say about not blogging, but what I deserve these days is not less than anything more. It’s been vacation time for schools and cousins are off to home to spend there holidays and its one important thing that keep me away from blogging. One of my cousin ashwin stayed along with me throughout his vacation and helped a lot taking care of my little needs and being a passionate gamer, he couldn’t leave me pc so easily and I couldn’t press him more in love and affection we share. He’s a very sweet boy and annoy at same time, and being fragile I didn’t show him any sign of disappointment and sometime I think there’s no other better way of showing back the deed he done in need and reducing my parents little stress.

In between we traveled to some places and tried to hide ourselves from scorching summer and never like before the heat ways are heaver these days. Evenings are very pleasant at same time and we had plenty of chats everyday outside the terrace and there were more fun and understand between us. I used to think why these communication and stable relationship’s were gone ones vacations are over? This is something disturbs me a lot in sharing, that whatever we forgive or exhibit a true love, there mind changes immediately when a pretty offer is stretched. Overall it’s a change I accepted and keeping away the virtual world, reading, thinking and capturing deserve me some knowledge and thinking back about blogging, I’m seeking a refreshing mind to begin newly. I hope to collect my energies and blog regularly. Thanks for your comments in my previous posts and the flower bloomed here is, from one of the rose plants I purchased in yercaud is yet to add more color to my home garden.

An attempt in gardening

home garden
(click pictures for enlarge)
I was wishing to have some flowing plants lately and were waiting sometime to head nursery to purchase the saplings. On Monday we visited a nursery on ECR to buy some rose plants and others, and brought half a dozen plants and pot and arranged it on the terrace that evening. The nursery has much rose plants that looks alike arranged for a flower show and the place itself looks greener. The red hibiscus was much striking and has an away look and structure in flower.

While turning back home, we went to beach and it was deserted as well it was sun shining still to inverse the crowd. As we parked the vehicle near the water body, after long time I was seeing the waves crashing the shore, where the local boys having fun in water. There are families too playing in the water while beating the striking sun and the high tides that trying hard to rise ashore. It was the day after the tsunami warning went across the ocean due to underwater earthquake in Indonesia and it was something to see how deserted our beaches are that haven’t been closely before.

Something last week

Touch me not
A pretty flower from the sensitive plant or touch me not. In Tamil it is called thottachinungi and scientifically known as Mimosa pudica. During the weekend travel with family and while stopping somewhere to drink coffee, found this plants on road side and had some fun touching its leaves to closing.

The pongal was really wonderful and we went to our native home and celebrated on the terrace by lighting pongal pot. After long time we cousins met and enjoyed the holidays and as I wish I can’t visit any village on this mattu pongal day and had a bad evening at beach by leaving the vehicle into sand.

Dad parked the vehicle near the shore and went to walk, and being a enthusiastic off-road driving, we tried to drive on sand by listening to one of my cousin saying scorpio (SUV) will go on sand and it has huge wheels to balance, we learned a never forget experience and scold from dad by making struck into the sand.

It was more than a 45minutes drama of fear and tension until releasing the vehicle from sand and pleasantly lot of people came to help us and it was a hard time for everyone esp. my cousins who tried many ways to pull it out.

The other day we watched few movies and Peranmai was wonderful in all. It has good story and message to this world and makes feel the worth of communication and hard work. The explanation was beautiful even it was little bit. The other movies are Kanden Kadhalai (which was fun and beautiful), Iyntham padai (good comedy and action – interesting) and Vettaikaran (annoy almost except few songs)

My sweetheart rose

My sweetheart rose
Though there were many beauties
none were like her beautiful
beautifully, with young petals;
and since my eyes saw her
it deny to close lids

Savor sweet those tender lips
soft and unharmed rose cheeks
she smiles innocently, opening her lips;
and pretty in pink wear
she caught up my eyes in cold weather

For women eyelids are beautiful
for flower petals are beautiful
eyelids would close, not the bloomed flower;
whatever else flowers are beautiful
whereas closed or opened its petals.

I can’t be here as well as there these days, since I caught up with cold and fever from last Saturday. Doing good only today, I will be at regular soon… taking care all! :)

A visit to Bryant Park

One evening we went to Bryant Park in kodaikanal and it has very nice footpaths now; to sustain smooth movement to check the beautiful flowers in clusters to various types, colors and fragrance. The Flowers on exhibit has many lovely roses on the right side, looking away the fully bloomed and damaged, the little ones draw me a lot.
smart indeed
The Bryant Park on the eastern side of the Lake is one important tourist attractions in kodaikanal and this park was planned and built by H.D.Bryant - a forest officer from Madurai, in 1908 and was named after him. The 20.5 acres of landscape garden has 325 species of trees including century old and conducts annual flower shows are in month of May.

There nothing attracts me like the flowers and being crowd less there’s no pressure of disturbance. The way it all arranged, simply observes. The dahlias seem so tiresome and head falls, and only to think so it was even-tide with minutes to go dusk, and looking away those purple flowers stands alike sticks, strikes me when I see it near to realize those are leaves that turns purple and pink when elevate.
Bryant Park
Bryant Park2
The park has green gardens that elevates with few conical trees and one tree has its part to attract to take few snaps with no fair back-ground. The other side of the park has thick grass floor to play and roll, and it has some designed structures of fruits, being cut down to sit around the white pillar, painted national flag and emblem on the top. I sense much cold here with tall trees closely surrounded.

It has an artificial pond looks alike and the flowers on exhibit looks pretty cool from the higher place. The park also has glass houses that said to have saved mist to keep some flowers exist and taking photos have been prohibited here, the steps doesn’t allow me to visit though. We spent sometime chatting over there on garden and enjoying the cold weather with clouds getting together to look alike yet to rain.

tiresome dahlias
There was a young couple, seems like came over to honeymoon, brought a camera man along with them and takes varies shots around the park, and comes up with some romancing shots lying on either laps. Everyone at present turns a quick look at them and few express in envy to have not such opportunities in there life at there early marriage. There was another guy lied down by facing the pillar, with hands as his pillows seems like thinking about his future and his mate sitting beside busy with cell phone.
