Unfold to rain

Unfold to rain
Behind the window bars it rains
without exhaust, eyes watched the rains
splashed and smashed by dropped to earth

Exuberant, because of rains
wanna experience the expedient rains
that ready to drench at a foot distance

Flash of news on flood to rains
pulled me behind the bars of rains
to push back to evoke rejoice inside

The tides rose to low-pressure and rains
kept away people visiting ashore, except
for the alike-minded to go holding umbrella

The waves rage and rough
and huge, washed ashore the trashes
and sea to send unpleasant scent to smell

Still the drizzle outside soothes
than the heavy rains and sunshine
either trouble people to get struggle.

Footnote:
The photo was shot last evening at our neighborhood beach by me on someone enjoying the rain holding his umbrella and watching the rage waves rushing ashore. The wind was blowing not so well but still the dampness was enjoyable... unlike bad for taking photos. Having steaming peanuts is something pleasure in rain along the KFC chicken popcorn.

Reflections of monsoon rain

I don’t know for what I’m waiting for, but I’m expecting something for a change and inspiration to write or think ahead to make worth the time and moment. Amid the rain and clouded sky, mind goes out and in like how the sun peeks in and out of sight though clouds; giving some hope of rays where people find hard to survive with rain, expresses great distress over ruled by rain.
Snail
(a snail moves into our home)
I think what defeat us when it rain is that we are not ready to face monsoon like any other season that sunshine’s throughout and as soon rain stops and life back to normal we forget the struggle and lack to prepare for next season. The rains remind us that life is not always same as sunshine and to relax and comfort throughout the year with enough water, we all need to bear some difficulties through monsoon.

This is the time also we get to reveal the real face of our locality and what we really need is taught by these situations and alike sunshine, rain is equally important to survive and what we miss is the balance between these and lack of though and care given to rain as it is not going to shower throughout the year. Like how they say ‘what inside comes out’, the rains reveal the quality of life hidden mostly beneath the roads and where people build their homes in the low lying areas which are once water resources.
monsoon rain
We easily blame the authorities for whatever difficulties we go through this season and some people are happy adding there area into the metropolitan cities without the quality of life and infrastructure development. Every year we experience and learn lessons from monsoon but however how many times we learned are unused and mistakes continue without a remedy. I wish and crave at least the newly sworn local authorise should take prior action from now onwards towards the next monsoon season esp. on proper drainage system to prevent water stagnant on roads which took away a life of a teacher here (Chennai) two night ago who drown into a hidden hole among the water stagnant.

Season of rain and fire

golden firework II
The nature has takeover the firecrackers
in its presence of thunder and flash
instead of fire, raindrops widespread
everywhere creating a pool of water

The northeast monsoon is here
with hours to go for festival of lights
it began to mess up everywhere
even before firecrackers –
and festival purchases end to spoil the environ

Many in worry, how to celebrate the festival
miss the joy of showering, of seasonal rain
as firecrackers can burn anytime
rain is sufficient to hold throughout the year

I wonder at times whether or weather?
It’s the blast of cracker bomb or thunder flash
bursting the sky with weapons unseen
to only the light and sound emphasis.

Wish u all again a Very Happy Deepavali.

Local body election... and things need to think

I skipped from voting at the local body election held today across the state and I don’t have any specific reason from voting and couldn’t see anything inspiring to cast my vote, since all parties standing on their own everyone crunches the same flour repeatedly. I couldn’t see anything innovative or prudent to bring change from the usual chorus singed by everyone to draw good roads, put street lights everywhere, cleaning garbage’s immediately and free from litters and block in sewage.
I don’t know about other places except Chennai Corporation, is this the pattern continues everywhere and I just want to ask those in the power for last 5 years, what have u been doing these days without correcting these and u only need a chance now to do these. I read couple of bit notices given by parties as manifesto at doorstep are indifferent to each other and I agree these are common problem that needs continues maintenance and these aren’t enough we are expecting.

The government and candidates themselves should first aware about their circuit and for this one needn’t to be a party supported or political experience and anyone from the local division could bring changes by realizing the need. Now the Chennai Corporation has expanded from 155 circuits to 200 by adding suburbs, but no one have ever talked anything about the Pallikaranai marshland that comes into the corporation which it uses as a dumping ground of collected garbage in the city is brimming to lose its habitant quite.

I wonder when we are going to understand the need of water quite without which nothing survives in this world. Have heard of rivers, lakes and reservoir being dried, but a place that never dries are the marshland and I haven’t seen it in a condition before and it’s the only place near Chennai to have freshwater always at nature state. Environment experts kept emphasis the need to preserve this place never fell at those ears of government as well as the Chennai Corporation which kept dumping like deaf and numb.
Pallikaranai marshland (click pic to enlarge)
Next to Vedanthangal bird sanctuary, one can watch for various birds and cranes at Pallikaranai marshland and so was its lavishing vegetation and aquatic, and being near to Chennai and now a part of it, no one raises there voice to protect this priceless wealth. The marshland plays a significant role in restoring the groundwater to its previous stage or maintains its ability to use when sodium and iron ore are emerging into the groundwater which unfits to use unless using filters to desalination process.

Another thing that needs to consider was regulating the share autos, which has its own rule to stop anywhere and drive irregularly into the traffic and threatening accident and life damage. The share autos had changed the way of people traveling to nearby distance and people chose this as they can hire it from anywhere they stand and go to places at minimum Rs.5 without walking much. I really think we need to bring a change in this format and alike bus stand, we need share auto stands to avoid the difficulties they provide to other by standing wherever they like.

Traffic has become a universal problem these days as almost cities breathe hard among the vehicle population; seem never to change better than going worst of increasing vehicle every day and Chennai isn’t exception in anyway. With large amount of cars, roads become less space for pedestrians to walk and bicycles to ride, the platform put for pedestrians are occupied by mobile vendors and in name of traffic regulation, the vehicles are diverted to go around reaching their place at less mileage and lack of efficient.

Looks like my mind is also taking diversion from the point of this post... and to say there’s a lot to look at and the intention has to change to see beyond the usual said now and then. I feel guilty for not doing my right of voting and writing this post here. Hope something will done for better living!

King of fishing

Whose sight uncommon has become a regular visitor of mine to come and sit on the Gulmohar tree right opposite to my house at every morning is a delight to see. Sometime I just think of thanking him/her to come and check me every day unlike some dear ones unwilling and feel bored to spent time with me.
Kingfisher
The blue coated, white breasted lady is really a beauty stick to dark red or pink beak and darker blown tufted head as a cap, takes refrain on particular branches either nearby at few steps from our doorstep. I attempt to capture the kingfishers on various moments while they come in search of fishes on the stagnant water opposite to my house, what rains left back as a trace for birds to look after for fishes, snails and frogs.

One day I captured the White-breasted Kingfisher while it took refrain on seed pods of the Gulmohar tree, refusing to move or flip back its position for long time gave me the wonderful opportunity to shoot her. I have tried many times to capture the bird but before I get back with my camera it will fly away… and the bird usual sighted while monsoon prevails and water filled the open ground, but even while it was dry in summer I received this bird at the branch.

I used my point and shoot camera to its maximum optical zooms to this quite nearly shot of the bird which appears little for a large kingfisher measured to be 28cm in length. I captured the white breasted kingfisher on two more occasions and one was while visiting Cubbon park in Banglaore.

Pre-rain

From dusk to dawn
it rained cats and dogs
leaving streets at stagnant
stimulated the sleeping frogs
to croak aloud simultaneously
from the open ground, opposite.

The heavy showering
shutdown the transformer
temporarily to short-circuit
turned the night too darker,
unwind to wipe the night riders
who were in search of sucking blood.

Leaves fresh and green
earth left wet and soak
snails to crawl on walls
sky’s closed due to clouds
brings down cool and moisture
to experience a per-rainy season.

Bird watch, Olive Island

The other day went out with a friend along with parents and it wasn’t a destination based but just a wander across ECR (east coast road) and to find a decent place for our lunch out, which is our second time to go outing together. We come across the backwater off Kovalam and glad to see a bunch of sea birds flying so close and catching fishes and flapping frequently around the area in search of.
Sea birds
I tried by best to capture the birds that were closely come to fly and landing on water and it is the first time I see seabirds, which I later come to known as Black Headed Gull. Since water stagnant was less, the salt pan has set path for storing salts and a little black cormorant stretched leisurely her wings to put dry in the air and it was a pretty scene to see it stretched for long.
Sea bird
After relaxing a while and chitchat for long after our lunch break in one of the casuarinas groves off ECR, we stop for a route to the olive Island which is in one of my wish list to check that always attract me every time I come across the Muttukadu. I had took various attempts to find route for this Island but at last get to check it with the help of the friend who encouraged me to try a private gateway that lead to a resort which is under construction.

I never know before until check the island that it has been in active sometime ago before a couple of constructions took place, including an underdeveloped Olive Island resort. There are evidence of a rundown fisheries farm in the island and remaining pans still alive with the growth of prawns and for collecting clams, which we aware through a bunch of guys loading there sacks of clams and few have already set to fire the clam curry on spot.
Olive Island off ECR
The island wasn’t much pretty as I expected to be seeing from away, with a row of coconut trees and lagoons in solitary attitude. I felt it was too late to land there after certain space of it was brought into a private resort and the road where narrow with a small shutter to exit in or out water due to high-low attitude.

With a confine sate we drive home after purchasing few rose plants from a nursery to replace the dead ones, which no more withstand more than 6 months and already one had gone in them and remaining ones are ready to bloom out of bud! The friend whom joined with us is none than Karthik’s Mom, who gave birth to a beautiful mind and brilliant brain and who’s our family friend for some time now and hopefully being a caring mother forever.

Sembarambakkam Lake

The Lake was on my list of places to be seen around Chennai for very long time and it happened at last to be my first traveled place of this year and it is enormous to see such a lake very near to Chennai, which is one of the three prime lakes that’s the source of water to Chennai. After coming across the hustle bustle of Poonamallee (a suburb town which is always crowded connecting the NH4 with Chennai) a calm narrow road leads to the lake after taking a right about a km on the NH4 with a small sign board as indication.
Sembarambakkam Lake view
After certain meters the road takeover the lake bank and the drive were around the lake with vast view of water and a lonely pelican swam on it. The road stretches for couple of km on the bank has a wonderful lake tower at the near end of the lake shutters is an attractive Chinese style of building, painted in red as a four story is housed as a measuring lever of water. It seems the lake tower is not open for public view.
Lake tower
Near the tower a women was selling fishes caught from the lake and a man was fishing from sailing on a plank like cork. We drew slowly around the lake before halt for sometime near the shutter where some boys were jumping off into the discharged water and having fun along swimming in the water pool. Lately the lake overflowed due to monsoon rain and abundant water was discharged into the Adyar River which is a rare occasion people gather to watch.

Later we moved down via the floor bridge after sighting a kingfisher, which constantly flapping it wings near the water surface in search of fish was interesting to see its many attempts by submerge into the water to catch fish. There was another road climbing to the other side of the lake bank after crossing the shutters, but having known later that Kundrathu Temple is nearby we redirect to temple by cease plan to stay back sometime.

Travel to Thanjavur

It’s always pleasant to mind and body when it comes to early morning drive and its more healthy to inhale fresh air, before the world wake up to spread immense debris as particles. We took yet a similar journey towards Thanjavur lately and it was ECR instead of Thambaram we took to connect Chengelpet – the NH which leads a smooth drive until we take right before Vilupuram to Thanjavur over the state highways, which wasn’t good to say about till Neyvali Lignite Corp.LTD.
Anaikarai
Being an ardent of SHs, I liked the journey of crossing many little towns and villages, which isn’t an easy sight when traveling in NHs. We stopped at Panruti to buy some cashew nuts which is very popular here, and there are many cashew groves cultivating enough nuts to export foreign countries and it is also renowned for jackfruits and one can’t miss the aroma of baking nuts when u pass these groves following the town. There are many retail shops too selling cashew nuts on the way, but quality is not guarantee. We brought the nuts from a shop inside the town and taste is nothing to say about, but the tender coconut we drink over there is much flavor and enough content of cost.
tender drink
As I was expecting, there wasn’t enough paddy fields or greenery to expose my favor on this route but there were many canals flowing fully and somewhere children diving and swimming in the gushing waters from the unlocked barriers. Though it wasn’t up to my expectation, the full stretch vast lands of paddy fields are nice to view and Thanjavur was differ from what I thinking back as an immense rice brand rural respiratory is a moderate town hiding the name ‘rice grain repository’.
Cauvery irrigational canal
Few miles before Kumbakonam comes the Anaikarai (dam bank) - where two dams built across the river kaveri for storing water is the only way for passenger to cross the river to reach other towns and villages. The dams being a narrow bridge, allows only light weighted vehicles to pass and those travels by buses has to leave it and take another bus to continue their journey by walking across the bridge or take a share auto. The dams looks like an older one similar to Kalanai, is locked to release water through canals to save and prevent water from flowing through river to merge with sea.

The eyes were searching for the big temple tower soon we enter the Thanjavur town; and I could only get a sight of it in-between a space unbuild. The town was little crowded and the hotel we lodged being in center of the town, the constant roar of horns and movement of vehicles are something beside the share of striking sun and thus being noon, we finish our lunch and others head to hotel to get refresh before head to big temple, I stayed up to vehicle to avoid climbing the steps to lift first floor. The hotel Lion lies very beside to a branch of fully flowing river Cauvery and having hotel Saravana Bhavan in underground it’s easy for us to go with our favorite savor.

Just to reduce to length of the post I shatter to write as separate posts further.

சென்னையில் மழை / Rain in Chennai

Dashboard

Chennai is in amazement
the constant rain is necessity,
even there are ways to store rainwater
it goes needlessly in streets and drainage
where no way to concealing the rainwater
thus everywhere its plated floors,
where to bury in sands?

Goes the season of craving
why, the question raised, rain u go away!
Somewhere dries my earth, u go and rain
one day will call you back, u wait.

Droplet leaves

Roll over to edge

The droplets detach from nimbus

Immersion depiction

Being late to write about, thought The Ganesh Chturthi was celebrated with delight everywhere to commemorate their faith and happiness just by sharing with others in whatever manner, the day was much delighted by varies cuisines and TV programs or visiting the nearby ones and looking out the procession that went on our street end Ganesh temples in evening. It wasn’t necessary for us to take the clay idol to the sea and been following the system of immersing in a bucket for last few years, got dipped into the water that evening get dissolved in morning to pour into our flower pots.
Ganesh immersion 2010
The university quarters beach, which is one we go often in palavakkal was suppose to be quiet and somehow clean, had turned louder and unclean like a market area, where things thrown everywhere to look dislike and different. There were countless water packets throughout the street that led beach thought me about the day’s weather and dry throats that quench their loud voice in immense joy and uncertain faith. The procession does sounds hard to separate it from the mortal one to the moral of the event and thus there were loudspeakers, bands and drums strikes with certain in time by time.

Each god has a vehicle in species to mention like mouse for Ganesha and peacock for Murugan but there’s one vehicle that almost used by gods in the procession was the small elephant (china yaanai), what people locally call the Tata Ace. The vehicles were kept on entering and exit the beach constantly, which is one of the three places that chosen for immersion in Chennai, where the university beach is allot for south and suburb and each vehicle hold a banner from where the idol comes. This time we couldn’t go near the beach as there were strict police protection and so we stopped nearby and watched the procession.
delighted idol step 3
The police have the reason to not alloy us particularly inside the beach road as we own back Scorpio which the enthusiastic devotees would think black as oppose color and thus could create problem. Later mom went on foot to collect some immersion pictures for me to see and the fireworks displayed in evening causes a lustrous series of fire and joy as the immersion came to close. The crowds drip as soon everything is over and shattered the remaining clay idols and else everywhere. In-between I were amaze to the glimpse of today’s rare species, the house sparrows, to crisp and intend flips their tiny wings urged me to instant fix the nest box at home, which I want to do for some time now.

Pulicat Lake

Back to land
Few weeks back we went to Pulicat, which is about 75kms from my home and 60kms from Chennai toward North. It was a sunny Sunday and we get ready early for the journey and the ride went through marina, kasimedu, minjue, kaattur and pulicat and the route were new to us after kasimedu – Chennai fishing harbor. The north Chennai which always seems crowded and dusty isn’t different, and the day being uncertain about the lorry strike announced to protest against the diesel price rise, the tankers that were suppose to enter harbor were parked a lot along the way and across kasimedu, turned the way into single and the road work going at some places delayed our drive to pulicat.

Pulicat is a huge lake shares the border of state Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, which is also known as Pazhaverkadu, a fishing village located within Tamil Nadu. Pulicat is the one and second largest brackish-water eco-system in India, next to Orissa’s Chilka Lake.
Lake ripple
Pulicat is also a lake bird sanctuary, and many birds migrate here overseas by winter and the famous greater flamingos are sighting here. Pulicat, having a history back to 1st century, where it was mentioned as one of the ports on the east cost of India, has the arrival of Portuguese in 15th century and followed by the Dutch.

The Dutch came here as there ships got struck on the shores, from where the coast line got the name Coramandal, still bears the evidence of the Dutch’s existence through the ruins of Fort Geldria built by the Dutch and a easy view of a Dutch Church and Cemetery. During those periods, Pulicat was known by the name pallaicatta.
Pulicat Lake view from the bridge
It was noon by the time we arrived pulicat and as soon we enter the village, many people stop our vehicle for boat ride. Keeping away those request, except a guy who talked in hope and caused to support us to the island through a boat ride, we moved across the new bridge before hire his boat. The bridge was newly built to connect the Island village with transport which were until then occurred by boats and bullock cart – when the water level is low.

The Pulicat Lake is a merging point for three major rivers and small streams, including the Buckingham canal, which is part of the lagoon on its western side. The lagoon’s water exchange with the Bay of Bengal is through an inlet channel at the north end of Sriharikota – where the Indian space rockets are launched – and out flow channel at its southern end with 200 meters wide, and the rise and depth is depend on the flow.
and passed away
There isn’t anything to see other than the Old Lighthouse, on the island village across the bridge, which is sighted from everywhere and even far away. It was a wonderful view from the bridge, with a panoramic of both sides of the lake, and besides seeing a small island away, and a boat with a box perhaps fishes passed away.

We were back to the jetty, where our boat man waited for us and the place doesn’t look clean and hygiene, and what can we expect from a place where the boats unload the fishes caught from the lake and seas. After a task we climbed the boat, which is an old one made in woods than the many colorful fiber boats. The boat man helped my parents and cousin to assist me into the boat, and without them I can’t enjoyed the ride.
Boat ride in Pulicat
The boat ride takes about 25 minutes to reach the island, where everyone suppose to visit and spent time with families and friends. The casuarinas groves in the island provides a nice shelter to everyone from the scorching sunshine and people who comes with gas stoves, cook meals and have fun with there families. While we arrive, there were a group of guys having fun with there friends by dancing, singings and making noise.

On the way we saw three pelicans swam in the lake at a certain distance to one another and it was late noon while we had our lunch that we brought from home, except the spicy prawns cooked by grandma, which were caught from the lake by then. It was very hot weather that day and we can’t head out of the casuarinas groves we land on. The boats stops by and moves, people flow in and out, the boats resound every minute and then, disturbing the peace which is the cause they say about birds keeping away from the sight.
Quiet pleasant, Pulicat
It was time to return back and the sun was there still scorching about even it was evening, forcing its rays into the soft skin. The island was green enough with grasses grown everywhere to attract and the waters are clean to see the sand inside, and a nice place to take cool bath against sunshine. The ride was very pleasant while returning back, except the hot sunshine, the blue skies and water reflects beautiful with mild ripples waves that calm the moment, but though excite to see a lonely greater flamingo flying overhead to surprise.

The boat ride took a long way while return back and the dept of water at these places are said to be more than a man’s height and we saw a fisher men just waking in the middle of the lagoon lake, with water up to his neck and he was planting sticks and nets to catch prawns. As we unload ourselves from the boat, the water level had raised down little to land us on the unclean terrain, where two women washing fishes beside.
No man island, Pulicat
It is nice to spend a day different by taking a boat and having picnic in an island and watching birds – which is something, disappoint me and I wish to visit Pulicat in winters to sight greater flamingos. I think now it would be nice if we taken a boat from the island village which has better and clean jetty or visiting the Tamil Nadu Boat House for a decent boat ride we failed to check.

This time we tried the NH 5 to return home, to avoid the containers trouble in north Chennai. The road link the pulicat and NH5 is simple nice, as it passes through villages and fields giving a sense of freshness in absence of much vehicles. My cousin who is on wheels in his early stage drew back home safely, saving a goat and small puppy which were in there own world across the road. I wish I get a good companion soon in him to drive me everywhere, without waiting for dad or a driver.

Summer Rain

ஊசி தும்பி / Needle dragonfly
Chennai is under clouded sky
it drizzles throughout day and night
sometime slightly heavily
it pours down to earth

Seasons change in order, is nature
but it’s indeed unnatural these days
because raining in summer
a summer like never before

The frogs, leaches and snails
that come into exist, because of the rain
leaps and leisurely movies in pace
mess up, after crushed under the wheels

The climate is too pleasant
to enjoy the nature and its existence
I blend with the weather
at every change I get into the shower

I wish the season continue like this
forever, keeping away the distress
and struggle of people under hot sun
and the rain stops, before it flood and drain.

The needle dragonfly in the picture is captured in my home garden. I love this species from my childhood and had attempted to catch them many times.

Red Hills and little something.

Golden glisten
It’s been a while I sense something true happiness and smile; and even then it wasn’t unusual, it sense me something wonderful as no one lately conveyed me love and gratitude this open mind. He’s someone very kind and innocent and a close friend of my dad and I have been reminding him to visit sometime and thus we suddenly decided and went to his home on Sunday in Red Hills.

He’s very glad about receiving me and I just felt how sustain he was truly expressing his desire and happiness, and it was such obvious and touching me. Unlike before, generally I don’t care about others in case my existence gives happiness to someone in dear and who could brake the barriers when there’s a concern and desire for me, but I do expect some respect and I can’t go ahead if there are others who feels unease and hesitate. Even I understand, the attitudes change from a person to another and though directly or indirectly, when facing a situation that seems someone neglect us in all cause present distress.
Clam water body I Clam water body II
Except him and his missus, others aren’t familiar with me, but there’s noting to feel bad about before the couple’s gratitude and gratification. We had our lunch there and sight their newly constructing home later over conversion and went to the Red Hill’s Lake while returning in evening. There was something disturbing me there and it was nothing the bees and after a beetle entered by ear lately, I’m so frighten about these insects. First there was only one flying across their home and never turned away, and later watching it carefully I guessed it was not the one, but there are many bees on there way to their home through a open window and buzzing across my face while enter the room and I waited sometime for there turn, but they never return.

I hope there was something under construction of bees inside there home and wished it never disturbed there peace.

It was scorching Sunday and roadside tender water also reflects the heat in producing gentle salt water and wanted to think the tender coconut also get sweat in sunshine! Sunday afternoons are my favorite and due to gentle wind and empty state and sound to slumber, the moment would sense bliss in silence. There was nothing different where I was, the mind spontaneously touches those sense and throw back.

Climbing and moving along the bank of Red Hill Lake, views the entire reservoir in its full capacity, leaving alone a narrow line at distance and the gleams of sun set, which was something awesome across the lake producing golden glisten. It seems like a best place for the locals to go for a walk in morning and evening on the lake bank, keeping beneath the fast moving world and clam water bodies.
Water watch tower
The lake is an important source of drinking water to Chennai, connected by couple of huge and small reservoirs in Thiruvallur District. The lake was still called as Pozhal Eari in Tamil and it continues to quench thirst of chennaities since 1868. The lake continues to hold its full capacity lately, receiving water from Kandaleru dam in Andhra Pradesh through Poondi reservoir apart storing rain water. One part of the lake bank has a better road to move on vehicles, viewing the lake and has sitting platform along the road to spent sometime in evening. The water level watch tower is a famed portion through media and stance as a picturesque with water background.

There was something said about the lake, “that it was used as a military camp by the British and where as an Airport for water planes to land and takeoff. In order to feed the plans, there were few huge M.S.tanks for oil storage on the earthen bunds of this lake and to the heavy movement of vehicles; the earthen bunds are enforced with concrete paths.”
Crimson Sun
On way back we saw the crimson sun in its whole circle, playing hide and seek between buildings. It wonders to see even on Sundays there’s heavy traffic in city and its suburb, and it sense injurious these days traveling in and around the city. Man I’m truly worrying about my environment whenever laving out of home and do wonder where our world is heading for and what do us and government to reduce the vehicle traffic and pollution. Ho! The whole world is rotating, and now includes my head.

Though I Love Rain

We’re amid northeast monsoon and receiving enough rain throughout Tamil Nadu! Thanks to the low pressure that stretched along the coast of Tamil Nadu from kanyakumar to mid Andhra Pradesh, almost all dams in Tamil Nadu are filled and flood warnings have been proclaimed to dwellers along many river banks.
Water bike
Two guys splashing rainwater in marina beach.
After longing and craving, the rainy season arrives two weeks ago and strikes everywhere and somewhere heavily. One of the most affected places in the state that u almost knows is Nilgiris. The beautiful hill station is now under threat and damage due to mudslide last week is slowly back to normal, but the continues rain makes people worry. At least 50 people have lost there lives in mudslide and wild flood.

After two days of sunshine and heat, the rain began to last widely in Chennai from yesterday, badly affected the normal life and many low areas and streets being under rainwater, people began to blame rain for there inconvenient. It really bothers me as I love rain and I would like to say this brief disturbance is to make comfort and fulfill our need for further many days under sunshine.

A snail and leech passes against each other at our apartment complex.
I know some people who wish to stop rain and I wonder how well they hate rain from drenching and disturbing them. I love to get wet in rain, but my parents never leave me to enjoy it. There are moments that never swept from my memories and one of it was playing in rain water that stays around the streets and terrace of our house. We used to close the rainwater pipe and create a pool on the terrace along with our sister and go and play on the water after rain stops.

When everyone’s rainwater pipe flows with water, ours would drain only later rain stops and they use to think something might block the pipe. But one day our grandpa found it and scolds us, but even though we continue to do so. It’s almost fun! There’re even times catching fish from drainage canal besides the road and we’re a team of 4 then – my bro and two friends, and can be found on streets often after rain stops.

Pursuing rain and dark clouds turning the moment happier and pleasure, thinking those moderate days I’m glad to rejoice in rain unlike today’s kids that almost sit in front of small screens and lack of interest and laziness, miss the wonderful joy of soak in rain. I can’t see any kid playing on rain these days and we can hear the sweetness only in verses alone.
Rejoice
i enjoy playing in rainwater
There is so much freshness in breeze and pleasure weather, the time passes simply watching rain and droplets on trees. Last week I had a brief drive into the rain and sense the cool drizzle on my face and hands which I dropped outside the open window. Taking away the risk, I went on the rainwater on my power wheels and tried to enjoy the season, but somehow I can’t go on my desire due to power wheels to avoid damage.

தமிழகஅரசே / TN govt.

State of marina

Tamil nadu government
when u drenched why do u need a veil?
When city was surrounded by water
what consultations on precaution act do?

There were so many days
sun baked and fried
even the govt. that beautified the marina
can’t renovate the roads and canals.

The then government builds swimming pool in marina
2004 tsunami creates the pool opposite to Vivekananda house!
Today it was a rainwater collection.

Throughout night slumber, frogs alarm
confoundedly running vehicle, tar roads condition
lake banks encroachment, govt. presenting document
when will awake the govt., which’s boundary is sky.

வா மழை / Come Rain

droplets on leaves

----- ----- -----
Pursuing wind
passing sky
cumulative clouds
come rain

Tamil Nadu is laid crave
without rain its laid drought
to fill thirst come rain

Until yesterday its heat rage
but it little decreased today
so without delay come rain

In forest there’re animals
in ambient there’re trees and plants
in urban there’re we humans
open the sky and come rain

A little cleared heart
lay withered without wet
to spray water come rain

Even the night goes dark
we rejoice thinking your arrival
come rain come

wow... the sign of Northeast monsoon begins today and caught up with fresh sense.
